@@midgetman4206 its only 7 years older than the f22 raptor. Dont forget that they are constantly upgrading them. These aren't cars, its not like they can just trade them In. There are Billions of dollars that go into the R&D of these planes and for the US Military's Flagship Airplanes like the B2 Stealth Bomber, The F22 Raptor, F35, the different drones etc.. They keep them in service as long as they are still capable of holding air superiority, and if all it takes is an upgrade here and there to maintain that, then so be it. Its much cheaper and easier than having a new plane built every time one becomes a little dated. Because remember, its not like they're only replacing a few of them, they'd have to replace hundreds if not thousands of them. and even much older planes like the A10 Warthog, I believe theres still even some B52 stratofortraces still in service. They still do the job they were built for. Its mainly just the Fighter Jets that are in a constant Arms Race and are always being outclassed by other Countries, Causing the US to have to have to keep building better and better jets. Itll be drones that are done like that next.

It's not really about detecting stealth planes, there are radars known to detect them with different radar waves, only it won't be enough to hit it, have a lock on it.. Unless the pilots make mistakes. Also a big bomber like this wouldn't have any trouble taking out anything on the surface from far away, with hard to catch missiles like Jassm, Lrasm, Harm-er etc. @@georgemavrides3434
