GW2 Core Hammer Warrior PvP Commentary

Hammer Warrior is a fun playstyle in Guild Wars 2 PvP that lets you leap into the middle of fights and have massive effect through CC and damage, but it does lack the sustain of the shield to survive when outnumbered. That is why this has more of a DPS playstyle than a duelist, though it can do both.

This is almost my main Warrior build for PvP, not with the exact same traits and skills but the playstyle with GreatSword/Hammer , also super good for 2v2 fights with a good teammate. And I have both expansions but still Core Warrior is the best Warrior IMO

Hi. Nice build. Is there chance you can link what traits(specialization) and equipment are you using. I have been playing GS/Hammer wr for long time, and survivability is very low on my build. Do you have maybe tips or build for core WR for End of Dragons. I have been playing against new Mesmers, Elemantalists etc from End of Dragons and some of them hit for like 17 K. Almost one shot. Any help would be appreciated.

No expert but seems like you need mobility and single target DPS so my recommendation is Axe/Warhorn.

How about hammer guardian, you think it can work for spvp? Thinking of trying it with the DH for 100% crit chance and hammer 2. But aside from that I don't know what else to do haha

Okay, honest question: I haven't played in years. How long is the "gearing process" these days?

Depends on where you left at. Overall, exotic gears are really cheap on the trading post, allowing to gear up quickly with decent stat choice. Runes can be a bit expensive, but nothing too crazy. Acended gears has never been easier to get (many events giving chests, fractals, raids, ...) but still require some investment if you've yet to get seriously into end-game content. Gearing is non-existent in the PvP mode displayed here. Brand new account can get into PvP straight from the start.

i use free camera, but the reason theres no cursor is because turned off cursor capture for some roleplay recording and forgot to turn it back on

Hello everyone and Vallun, just started out in gw2 as a warrior. My endgame focus is mainly going to be pvp. Is warrior any good these days? Like is it viable in todays meta? I’m still going to play warrior no matter the answer but I was just wondering 😀

Pretty much everything is viable in pvp, so yes, go ahead :) right now I see many spellbreaker (warrior elite spec) but anything is viable

ive been smashing out beserker warrior in pvp, Everyone says spellbreaker is the best but berserker is too much fun for me! And because people underrate it's even more of an advantage imo.. and i used to play thief pvp but Warrior is much better IMO.

Blind, Aegis, Stability, Weakness, Evade and then they ripped damage off hammer skills too. I used to enjoy hammer in WvW but there is too much open space and melee hate now for hammer to be viable there. Shame really.

Well, at least there is one opportunity to show off your hammer skins with rev in wvw, but yeah... Really love the weapon but unfortunately it's very rarely a decent choice.
