This music was on the radio when I started playing in "67". The next year at Xmas time I was with my older brother and Dad in NYC. We went out to dinner at a club and I didnt understand why we paid to get in to eat. The special was Southern fried Chicken N Waffles. We sat at a long banquet table and behind us an organ player rose up from the stage flood behind us it was JIMMY SMITH. This was one of my best memories. The sound of this Hammond reminds me of that. It was the Jazz sound of that time.

Truly inspired. As a drummer I have been wanting to play Hammond organ for 40 odd years now and this guy and his band smokes. They have respected this Hammond classic and carefully applied their own creative layer. The solo is definitely JS inspired and afer hearing Booker T live recently I reckon its a credit to his legacy. Over to the haters! Mark

I remember when this first came out. Always enjoyed the shuffle pattern. I was playing drums in a trio, with a B3 player who could run some fierce bass on the peddles, and a screeming blues guitar player. Fun times for sure. And triplets were a great break up to the shuffle. And the bass player here, is sure layin down some solid foundation. The rebar before pouring the cement, if you will.

haha look at those stupid comments, probably not musicians themselves. Jim, I want you to know that you're awesome. Love your music and you are a person I look up to music wise. I even learned some tricks myself from videos like these. Now I know no one can go up against the icons. the best from back in the day, even if someone might be considered better. (People always seem to compare musicians with others, never understood why...I mean in the beginning the beatles were rejected because they were different). But you're right there on my list together with Jon Lord, Jimmy Smith, and I know, that the performance in this video requires crazy skills, and I haven't seen anyone to this day playing like that. Me and my friend share an obssession for hammond organ and when I saw this video I instantly needed to call him and tell him about it. One word, Awesome

Jim. Just know that whenever I want to smile from ear to ear, I play this video. The way you build it is truly inspiring to me, a person who's played the organ since I was 4. I get too excited too quickly (ok I know what that sounds like but keep on track:) and I lose focus. So, the focus and control that it takes for you to play this song is what makes me smile. Come to Cleveland! There's an awesome room in which I've seen Brian Auger, called "Night Town" where you'd go over well. In other words, the crowd can appreciate good music. Keep it up bro!

I'm thinking, why You didnt use overdrive on the main theme, xk3 has nice drive from tube, and leslie 3300 also, I think. it doesnt matter, once again- amazing playing, from 3.25 to the end-I love it:) greetings from Poland :)
