@fartcannon-wg5ol
@fartcannon-wg5ol 11 ай бұрын
@@user-vt4hd8hb4vI don't know that's what they're talking about. Bob Dylan is just not very well musically trained. That doesn't mean his singing is bad, the end result is great as it is and also it's kind of his style. People like it. But in this footage he is clearly struggling. Also, I think this doesn't have anything to do with how "big" he is. He's one of the greatest but his real strength lies more in poetry than in making music. It's kind of like putting a talented high school big band member into a top symphony orchestra, they're just not on the same musical level but they would probably still make great music together.

Yeah, he shouldn't have to struggle to remember the lyrics, considering how his own lyrics are among the most complicated out there (on a side note, I feel like my brain consists of 15% Dylan lyrics, I can recite plenty of them), but in the official video for this song many of the artists are looking at a sheet of paper, so it looks like they also struggled to remember the lyrics.

@@bredenis5good point but think of the punk movement or bands like pavement. They made a pretty good living out of playing their instruments rather poorly and even off-key! Or the way Josh Homme alters his scales to give QOTSA songs their unique vibe. Or Tom Waits' junkyard percussion... there are many examples in music where going against the grain can produce something very interesting and unique. @Donna King, yeah it's not his style here that's the issue, his voice is just shot to hell. And I was a teen loving Dylan and now a senior citizen loving the teen Dylan. Not sure quite what went wrong with his voice. Could be some health issue - ?? Love his style too though, man this was quite rough he could have sung it not sure why he was so confused. I found it hard to watch...there are other clips of singers not getting their parts right either though the focus on a legend will get you more clicks!!

Abhishek Pathak Everyone knows Bobby’s a good songwriter, but his style of singing is unfamiliar to most people and often misunderstood. He’s much more comfortable singing folk or country, not pop. I always frame it as he’s a fantastic singer but a lacking vocalist. An example of being near perfect at both is someone like Paul McCartney or Harry Nilsson.

1. Dylan has no reason to be insecure. He's proven himself to be a "talented" singer several times. How many of the pop stars in that room, however, could do what Dylan does? Put pen to paper and write a song halfway as powerful as, say, Visions of Johanna? 2. He's Bob Fucking Dylan. Of course everyone respected him to no end. It seems your idea of talent runs parallel with how many rules the artist at hand follows to a T, like a good old choir boy. Give me a break. I'd rather listen to Dylan croak out his poetry in the voice of a grandma gargling granite than hear any of the myriad minstrels who could hit all the notes while singing fast food music.

However others noted that poetry has long been recognized, focused on the underlying merit of Dylan's award, and speculated that the popularity of Dylan's work was behind those objecting. "To me, [the Nobel] is like pinning a medal on Mount Everest for being the highest mountain." (songwriter Leonard Cohen). To all aspiring musicians and artists out there: just make sure you get started and keep going. See? Even the absolute masters still had their moments of flaw and doubt. Learn as much as you can on the way, stay open, but, never let any lack/inability stop you from reaching.

I'm not much of a Dylan fan but I will say that he seemed to be focused on the real meaning of the song and that's what comes out in his singing. Yes, it was also nice to see the encouragement he received from the others.

Bob není zpěvák pro sborový zpěv, je solitér a originál. Přesto to s pomocí zejména Stevieho krásně zvládl. Jeho projev je jedinečný a výjimečný. Je klenot. Obdivuji ho.

Jeremy Shirland, yeah but he wasn't there as that artist Dylan, man you would have thought that was his first time recording - too hung up on his voice. It was painful to watch not hear..imo And I'm a gal from the days when he came out on the scene...etc. I"m 71 years old, I know he could have done it, we just have to remember no matter the talent..we're dealing with human beings. Love it he smiled at the end and that he knew it wasn't his best..still all in all, that song was special. : )

I feel sad for those people who say that he isn’t a good singer. You guys don’t realize why countless covers of his songs never speak to your heart like his ‘not good’ voice does. If all the comparisons with all those ‘good’ singers proves is but the fact that he’s a wonderfully unique artist of all time.

A lot of people is saying he can't sing. No lol. Bob Dylan plays around the key but it never goes out. He is indeed great, at least better than any average singer. To be in fact, his singing style is very complex and can't be imitated by just anyone without going out of tune

Indeed!!!! Bob is a certified LEGEND!!! He had his own LEGENDARY style of songs. This isn’t one of them. BUT the respect he has garnered from worldwide earned him a lead standout part in this song. They were patient until he got it to fit him. Big ups to Bob for having the courage and the balls to crossover into this style of song!! Everybody in that room knows how legendary Mr. Bob Dylan!!!

Ever since I was a kid, Bob's solo was the one that made the greatest impression on me. It stands out in a song packed with talented voices. What a treat to see this footage of him having to work through his nerves and practice over and over. He is arguably the greatest lyricist of his generation and here we see him being very human, and we see the love that filled the studio in the support of his peers.

Grande Bob y Steve ❤
