"The Tide Is High" is a 1967 rocksteady song written by John Holt, originally produced by Duke Reid and performed by the Jamaican group The Paragons, with Holt as lead singer. I love the original as much as Blondie's cover.

Dano is easily my favorite steel drummer. Almost every note rings - with other bands many of the higher notes are "dead", even with native Caribbean drummers.

Ive been into pan from 11 years old ! Lived in Trinidad for 3 years from 2002 to 05 been to loads of carnivals over the years ! Seen the greatest bands of all time ! & met some of the pan pioneers! Nice expert-tease!!! Soothing and solid has a nice formula especially with that steady well oiled time signature. That stratocaster harmony with the steel is smooth as silk and the percussions are hypnotic! Couldn't have been done better by anybody!!!

I needed this. I've been dealing with potential COVID and feeling so horrible and anxious. I live in Florida and its been a dream of mine to learn how to play steel drum since I was a little girl (grew up as a drummer). When I finally beat this sickness I'm gonna buy myself a nice lead and live life!

Hello Dano, This is one outstanding recording! I loved it! I would like to see you put out a CD with some of your past hits on it. I love your recordings of Coldplay's Clocks and Belafonte's Shake Sonora. I also like this recording along with Red, Red Wine. If you were to create a CD with these studio recordings on it, I think you would have a big seller! I know that I would purchase a copy for myself. I do have "Clocks" and "Jump in the Line" on CD's. One Drop Pop for "Clocks" & Pan n Paradise for "Jump in the Line." My current plan is to make a CD when I'm done with the singles. Working on a Remaster of "Red Red Wine", that one is really starting to come together and getting ready to release via CD Baby, Spotify & iTunes. . After that I'm going to release an original song titled "Cazadero", a dreamy samba. In the current production que is a rendition of Sublime's hit "Badfish", Lalo Schifrin's spy classic "Mission Impossible" & Henry Mancini's amazing "The Pink Panther Theme." Also, the jazz/calypso "Saint Thomas" and Bob Marley's "Stir it Up" & "No Woman No Cry." All of them are almost done, but require many hours mixing and mastering.
