B52s smoky takeoffs 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

Two B-52s went on a training mission to Norway from #raffairford on 3 Dec 2024 they were callsigns MARVEL 20&21. This video is of the two aircraft leaving RAF Fairford leaving smoke trails behind and starts with that scene #marvel #aviation

Heard they inject water into the jet engines to produce more thrust during takeoff. That causes the dark smoke.

Not on the B-52H, the only version flying now, the water-injected J57 turbojet engines were replaced by TF33-P-3s which are not water injected but still old tech and to be replaced by clean RR engines...😶
