Hey reposting this from your injector video in case you don’t see it. While removing the first injectors using the proper removal tool, all three of the pressure pins snapped off. I was being very careful and only doing a quarter turn at a time. So now I have three broken injectors that are still stuck. Any advice?

How much should you pay to get this done at a shop? $600 valve cover and how many hours? I bought a 540i from CarMax and found out it had a cheap Chinese valve cover installed at sum point. It failed 10 days out of there 90 day warranty. I had to go pay to get it all done so it's documented.

i've seen people pull it without removing the injectors but it would be very tight. t he holes in the valve cover aren't much bigger than the injectors

The valve cover actually has two different rubber gaskets. The gasket that seals your plugs has the leak.

Im getting a coolant smoke come out of the exhaust every morning or whenever I let the car sit for some time (hours) reading all over the internet it seems like the gasket is going bad and water might be infiltrating some way. P:s The oil is clean, ive done this job a few times but never because or coolant leaks, are you aware?

Hey, it seems that replacing the valve cover would most likely fix the misfire issue. I had the literal exact same issue on my B48 with misfires and oily plugs. Compression and leak down tests were good too. The car is with the dealer and they claim it’s the DME but I’m pretty sure that’s unrelated. Hopefully the new valve cover fixes your issue

Did you change the rubber seal on the injectors? I recently changed the injectors, but I want to change the valve cover now. The injectors only has maybe less than 100 miles on it. I wonder if I need to change the seal when I pull them out.

Replace the diaphragm on the valve cover. Bmw calls it a “repair kit”. It’s about 250 from dealer. Kind of a bitch to remove the cap but doable. Very common. Better yet it’s covered by bmw for 15 years 150k. Look it up SIB 01 14 23

Hi Kern! I had to replace the VCG on my B58TU, after a bunch of confusion I find out the TU and non TU have different injectors. Now I don’t have a seal for the injector that fits nor a part number for the TU injector seal. Would you happen to know where I could find the part number?

Hey kern I was trying to replace my hpfp with the B58tu and ended up breaking one of the bolts, it got stuck in there bad and now one has been able to get it out, do you know what the part is that the hpfp sits on and is it replaceable? I can’t find any information online throughout my own research

I would take it to a shop that has a bolt extractor. You should be able to get it out. That component is not sold on its own so you'd have to replace the whole head.

Kern i recently got a pcv failure and the car is good after changing the diaphragm. Problem is the CEL remained (p112f). U think it can be something with the gaskets or the entire cover?

I have a heat management mudule controller code but I replaced the thermostat 2 months ago and code popped back up says heat management stuck closed I’m starting to think it’s the pcv valve cars not over heating at all no misfire at all either could be my pcv valve?? It’s a 2017 540 so I’m assuming I’d have to change the whole valve cover ?
