I just bought a 2004 S4 Cabriolet. I've been tearing cars apart for 30+ years, and this was the BEST how-to video I think I've ever seen. My plan is to do this job to my car this coming winter, and I know where my $$ will be going!

Absolutely amazing video!! I have a B6 S4 (BBK) and have just removed the engine, next step is to get to the timing so the whole lot can be inspected as there is no history with the car. This is a great guide to follow, thanks again!!

I've done this job before back in 2016 on my BHF, and I'll say that this was an excellent video - precise and efficient - well done! I've done 130k on the car and it's due for this job again

130k after your first job? Guides fail again or can adjusters?

Nice video. I thought that was my engine at first since you have it for stage 1 plus. Looking forward to getting my supercharger on it when the engine returns to complete the build.

Incredible video. It definitely takes the apprehension out of the horrible looking mess of chains on these engines.

Super informative video. Have done 3 timing jobs myself and about to start #4 next month and this is great for a refresher. I've read in a service manual for the timing job (pro demand guide) that you're supposed to move the crankshaft back 30 Deg before doing the final torque sequence on the cam bolts. You made no mention of that in the video. Is that a necessary step in the final torque sequence or only needed if you don't have the wedges for the tensioners?
@amtuned1086 Жыл бұрын
We have taken the locks off for the fan 90 degree cam bolt torque. I do not recommend doing that as it would serve no purpose and only make the front of the cans harder to hold with a wrench when torquing with a breaker bar.

Great video! I am about to buy a 2007 S4 B7 with 128,000 km and I have doubts about the engine and the points to take into account. Can you give me some recommendations so I can do a good inspection of the car before purchasing? How often is it advisable to change the chains? Thanks in advance

Great video alex, great detail, shouldn't it be turned over and check again before the covers goes on? I was hoping you had the solenoid housings with the diamond washers also in the video but they where on already. Any specialties there?
@amtuned1086 Жыл бұрын
The solenoid body’s are not removed for our timing kit. There is no need to access the diamond washers as we provide replacement individual solenoids.

im assuming the process is relatively similar on the 2011 audi CDRA engines? my 210,000 mile A8L is becoming a bit of a chatterbox and im preparing to line this job up at my shop, is there a slim chance this kit will work on the CDRA?
@amtuned10868 ай бұрын
Not sure honestly. If it is direct port injection, the kit will not work.
@MatthewWakeland8 ай бұрын
@@amtuned1086 interesting, it is direct injection, do you by chance have a part number list i can cross refrence with?

wont those plastic guides that you installed break?
@amtuned108610 ай бұрын
They will not. The failure prone ones are on the main chain which are replaced with 1st gen B7 RS4 guides which are metal backed.
