Those -115Bs are monsters! 👻 I'm surprised how much vibration / resonance they make in the cabin and seemingly up in the cockpit on startup. Thanks for sharing 👍

I've always been curious to know how engines were started on a Boeing 777; I've started engines on CRJs before, so it's cool to see the functional differences. Based on the EICAS there, it looks like once you engage the starter and set the fuel control to run, the FADEC decides when to add fuel on its own (assuming I'm not misinterpreting it). Cool!

If Autostart is working the EEC opens fuel 22 seconds after N2 passes 18% RMP

I have a question, with what percentage of N2 do you open the fuel control? I follow your channel a lot and it helps me clear up some doubts in my day to day work!
@dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
@dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098 11 ай бұрын
In auto start you select fuel on after you selected starter on. The EEC will control when fuel will go to the engine, it’s normally at when engine is max motoring on the starter at about 20% N2. If autostart is off, the N2 dial gives a little mark when in the start sequence, It’s around 14% N2 you can select fuel on, better practice on the GE90 is selecting fuel on at max motoring of the starter.

Thanks for the feedback and the explanation! So basically it's the same procedure for starting in manual mode on the A330, for example, keeping in mind the appropriate parameters for each engine manufacturer.

Hello! During engine start-up my plane doesn't give me the N1, it stays at 0.0 until I put the fuel control on RUN. Why?

Is the cockpit, panels, buttons etc easier to learn (if new to airliners) than the 737? (im thinking in a sim, but also irl).

Yes - the 777 does more automatically than the 737, so less button and switches to press

EICAS fault msg of all systems that create EICAS warning when faulty (or not working) will show caution (orange) and warning (red) message in this area of the display. TCAS is off and it give a caution msg that it is off there.

Why is the Anti Ice and PACK off during Engine Start?
@dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
@dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098 6 ай бұрын
As is was a testrun for maintenance, the engineer running the engine was doing his checklist. That why he switched off the anti ice. Packs were off, because the aircraft had oilsmell complaint and the ru was done for trouble shooting where that came from.
