I passed through Birmingham airport a few months ago when a flight from Pakistan landed. Not one single passport inspector was on duty for any incoming passengers nor were any customs officers present to check contents of the luggage. Who knows how many illegal travellers arrived and what they may have been carrying?

If you have a plane where 3 passengers aren't listed as entering the country, and 3 people without passports that can't remember where they flew from, it would be pretty easy to figure out.

Everytime I’ve checked in with BA going somewhere that needed a visa, an additional person is then called to the check in desk to verify it. Sounds to me as though this guy was all on his lonesome. Also, how did the visa less passengers get to choose his desk when several are often open on a big flight?

I suspect it was almost certainly to do with the language barrier, they mention in the clip that he was bilingual, so these "customers" most likely went straight to his desk, under the pretence of a language barrier issue...

I really don’t get it. It seems that Canadian airport immigration were asleep at the wheel ! The reason why airlines are required to check visa is exactly this. So once a passenger arrives at Canada immigration at the airport without a visa and claiming asylum, it should be obvious which airline is responsible for that ! They should have been able to get on top of this fairly quickly after the first handful of cases.

On arrival in Canada BA would have been immediately informed that they had carried an improperly documented passenger. BA would have been fined for this and would have looked into it. Even if they had destroyed their docuents it would not be difficult to establish wich flight they arrived on. The British authorities may or may not have been informed or actually cared but BA certainly would have cared because they are the people who would have had to pay the fine. They would have known who had checked the passenger in; all staff have their own sign in code and such things are logged by the system. It is hard to believe that BA did not pick up on the fact that ALL of these passengers, over 120 of them, were ALL checked-in by the same person. This is ONE of the reasons why I question what is being claimed in this video.

I don't understand how this went on for so long. I worked in the travel industry several years ago. There was always the "Carrier's Liability" regulation in force. If the receiving country realised the arriving passenger was not in possession of the correct visa or documentation the carrier was immediately fined - £2,000.00 at the time I believe. I'm amazed the department of BA responsible for paying those fines did not flag this situation up; or was more than one person involved in this scam. Also, what are the police doing. Surely they would have realised this guy was a flight risk. Why at least was his passport not confiscated? More to this than meets the eye. The whole thing stinks.
