Best explanation of this job I have seen. Just one thing; some other vids show only one bush for each side whereas yours shows split bushes that you have to put in from both sides. Also it appears from other vids you have to measure the depth of the bushes to make sure you get them right otherwise parts could be rubbing.

Well done bloks, Very detailed into what and how to remove and install bushes etc. Shortly I'll be doing a BF V8 rear end that has had quite bit done, but only one side, I've ALWAYS done both sides as BOTH have done the same amount of ks, so same amount of work, best to do both and be done with it. Thanks again for your upload vid' Cheers Teddy

Yeah mate good stuff! Thanks for watching appreciate it. I’m a big advocate of if you’re doing one do both. Unless it’s for a rwc for a car the customer is selling and they don’t want to spend the money

Did you need to heat the rear tail shaft bolts to loosen the Loctite, as my rattly gun is not getting them loose?
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Ай бұрын
Nah matey never heard of anyone needing to do that… not something I’d recommend either as the rest Tailshaft coupling is filled with grease and it’s not high temp grease. Just put the handbrake up and crack them lose with a breaker bar first. When you can’t tech the other, release the handbrake, spin the Tailshaft, and repeat

While we have the rear end removed using out 2 post hoist I'm replacing all the bushes and rubbers. Our Ford Territory is much the same as your vehicle and I'm fitting the Ford originals because I do less than 10,000 k's a year.

The genuine ford bushes do offer much less road nose, and transmit less harmonics into the cabin. However we have seen genuine ford bushes start to fail with as little as 35,000km on them. We have seen customers vehicles running g Pedders diff bushes that have done around 120,000km and the bushes are still in tact. We only recommend them for longevity reasons. Most workshops will actually refuse to install genuine Ford bushes nowadays. However we always give the customer the choice

Any reason you guys didn’t go with the polyurethane super pro diff bushes?
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk 3 ай бұрын
Couple of reasons. I’ve seen a few cars come though with super pro bushes fitted previously that have failed, but haven’t seen a set of Pedders ones fail yet. Also do find the super pro ones do pick up slight road noise, whereas the Pedders don’t seem to have that issue. Main reason though, as we have had a very good relationship with Pedders for near on 20 years, and we see a big advocate of their products.

Hi mate can you please tell me where to get centre bearing Regards John.
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk 4 ай бұрын
Any auto parts store. Burson, Repco, autobarn, super cheap etc. Just keep in mind there are a few different types. You’ll need to measure the inside diameter of the old centre bearing to get the correct one, which you can’t do until it’s replaced. I normally buy the few different ones that are available so I have them. Then once the jobs done I return the ones I didn’t use.

If we are doing just the diff bushes only it’s around $850-$900. We do know some workshops can charge up to $1,200

pretty much impossible to do with the car on the ground ?
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk 3 ай бұрын
Absolutely not. Done heaps of them on jack stands then on a hoist. Just gotta jack the rest end up enough to get the rear cradle out. Bolt the back wheels back on before you drop it out and roll the whole assembly out

@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk does the other end of the arm that the rose joint was replaced need the bushing replaced?

@jeffkeenan5439 only if it physically looks torn. But I’ve only had to replace that once and I’ve done probably 25 of these
