This is a prolific and talented composer of the quality of They Might Be Giants or Ween, but with the lyrical wit and social commentary of Fat Mike of NOFX . As a Canadian performer many of his compositions contain a "Stompin' Tom" vibe of southern Ontario experience and nostalgia. B.A. Johnson is shockingly raw in his honesty and more relatable and personable than the artists previously cited. I saw him for the first time two days ago at a private show. I am a lifetime fan now. I hope B.A. continues to pursue his artistic dream and manifest his impressive talent making catchy and relatable folk punk rock songs.

Last year a friend and I tried to recreate Pete's experience by doing a bunch of mushrooms before a BA concert. I ended up freaking out during the opener because I saw my ex, and I told my buddy I had to go run by the tracks for an hour before BA came on. When I came back I felt exactly the same but now my legs were tired. My buddy had taken all the rest of the mushrooms and lost 200 dollars on the VLTs. Ex was getting all handsy with some Jabroni right in front of me. Was shaping out to be a major bummer of a night. BA opened up with deep fryer in my bedroom, tearin off the what are you lookin at dickhead sweatshirt, to reveal another lookin at dickhead sweatshirt, I was vibrating real hard but I was keepin it together. My buddy on the other hand was fallin apart. By the time BA got to his last what are you looking at dickhead T-shirt, my buddy was freakin out, and before I knew it he dipped. I continued to work towards a transcendent moment during too messed up to be in the canoe, and I realized my buddy was gone. I ran outside to look for him and he was nowhere to be found. But sitting on the ground by the door was the most beautiful woman I'd seen in my entire life. I mustered all the courage I could to ask her if she'd seen a guy in a bomber jacket with a shaved head run by (he's not racist just likes to dress like that) She said no, but then she asked me my name. Said I looked like I was having an intense night, but that she was impressed I knew all of the lyrics to BA's songs. I started freakin out a bit more but I managed to keep it together. Asked if she was gonna go back inside. She said "No, I actually just called an uber. Its too bad, I would've like to stay with you a little bit longer". Her cab was pulling up. I put all the focus of my brain into my mouth, asked her if she had contact information. She did, she graciously put her number in my phone, and faded out into the night. The rest of the set was killer, BA ended the night with I wanna drink in a bar filled with aliens on top of his van, and the next morning that girl I'd met texted me back. We've been going out ever since and we're going to see BA in steel city next week. Thanks BA for kindling our romance
