Funny that Sheep and Duck Dodgers both ended with the same meta-behind the scenes episode. That really feels like the writers just deciding to go full weird in a great way.

I never got to see how this show ended as a kid but glad it went out like this! Loved how the theme song and credits were flipped! 😂 And Mo Willems himself voicing the director. Wow! What a way to send off this underrated show I really enjoyed back then along with Mike, Lu & Og. 🎉

Cartoons used to be deeply historical and cultural. You could be educated by cartoons before. Now, only indoctrinated.
@k.umquat86049 ай бұрын
Dayum right son! For example Tom and Jerry educated us about the importance of serving the American army, and Veggietales taught us meaningful lessons about Christianity (!!!) Every single culture from the beginning of human history has indoctrinated new members to their outlook. People tend to ignore the biases in their own perspectives. I can easily imagine an US liberal saying that the past was more progressive (Roe v Wade etc)
@Squidward_Tikiland9 ай бұрын
that is a fair point. Though, I would argue at certain times like in the Soviet Union and in present day America, information, literacy, actual knowledge of history and all the good things that people did in the past, being suppressed in favor of a brand new political cause, or several. That’s happened dozens, hundreds of times in history. My own biases withstanding. On a less abstract note, the animaniacs was a regular kids show, but it would teach kids about the history of Hollywood, cinema, America, in a really funny way that was obviously not indoctrination. Just reflection. Shows like that didn’t form you, they allowed you to form yourself. This is nowhere to be found today In the future, todays cartoons and shows will be educational for historians, but in the sense of reflecting the politics of the time, and not preserving culture or educating people in it
