it's because pvp is set in lobby where all you have to do is focus on the dual, but in manhunts you need crazy gamesense, which is why people who do manhunts frequently can actually survive long, their hunters have to fight in really uncomfortable environments which gives the runner a big advantage.

I a game with this many Hunters, genius hunter strat. Instead of hunting Baablu, you go to the nether, get ghast tears, ender pearls and blaze rods. Use the ghast tears to make loads of ender crystals and make eyes of ender. Go to the end (collect obsidian on the way) and place all the crystals as well as making traps and stuff. (Or you could light the ender portal, put dripstone through it from 40 blocks so it can one-shot a player in full diamond armour. Make sure none of the Hunters go through, and now the speedrunner cannot win as they HAVE to go to the end to win and doing so would kill them)

You should do this but with a downed mod, so that if a hunter dies and there's another hunter they can try and pick them up. It would encourage them to stick together more and make it more interesting in my opinion.
