Thank you very much for passing on the changes that happened with our filter categorization as well as our general information about the subject. Let us please mention that the filter selector tool has been improved even further. You can now enter up to four of your telescope data sets into the same graph, to let you compare which filter may fit more of your telescopes - 3.5nm or 6.5nm Narrowbands. Of course everyone must still decide, if he will opt for the narrower filters due to prevailing sky background conditions. We're looking forward to see more of your work and hope for your back to improve greatly!

Sorry to hear about your back trouble. I hope all goes well, I really enjoy and get a lot out of your videos. I've had a bad back since I was a teenager. It left me bed ridden on several occasions. I eventually learned what things to avoid and live pretty normal nowadays. I doubt my problems were anything like yours, as I did not need surgery, and no scary bolts were put in my back. I hope you can recover, or get to a good place to be mobile again.

I ordered mine in December and just received it, so you should get yours pretty soon now ;-). Cuiv, do you plan to review it ? It is the kind of gear you should be able to test without too many problems with your back: it is very light (5kg), and it would be an ideal mount for your C6 hyperstar or your small refractor. And if it works as well as it seems, it could ease the bad memories you had with the previous harmonic mount.

Cuiv, I really appreciate your videos, your unique perspective, and overall approach to your channel. Your passion for the hobby and associated tech shines through your videos. I have been a supporting Patreon for that reason. I too have survived a major injury, to my leg, and the associated pain and grueling recovery ... but nothing to your level I am sure. I know how demoralizing that process can be, but please hang in there and we will appreciate whatever you can do when you are able. Take what you need to get healthy so you can get back to doing what is important to you, whatever that is.

Cuiv, so sorry to hear about your back - good luck for a speedy recovery! BTW, I'm currently trying to obtain the Baader filters for my new (as yet untried!) RASA 8. Yes, I already knew about the whitepaper and filter chooser - very interesting. I'll let you know what they are like when I get them and try them. I will probably still have to wait a while, so I'm ordering the RGB for now + Clearglass (because L is unavailable... and I'm not sure I'll need it on the RASA...).

It's great to see Baader have sorted out the previous issues. The f3 set of 3.5nm/4nm filters is particularly exciting. Previously there were no 3-5nm filters really suited to the f2.5-f3.5 range. You'd have to get 7nm+ filters or risk losing a lot of signal which is the whole point of fast optics in the first place.

Like your videos always. I have had three lower back surgeries over an eight-year period. My first surgeon a neurosurgeon surgeon had 39 years' experience; he was the only one that told me it will take about 2 years to feel somewhat normal after a spine surgery (not the simple discectomy procedure). My other is an orthopedic spine surgeon, most of them say you will be up in a matter of months. I know the old neurosurgeon was correct. So, knowing it's going to take time; a long time in years, helps a lot more than being told you're going to be fine in a few months. Then when you're not you then start to wander if something is wrong. Hang in there, it does take time. Takes at least six or more months for a fusion to fuse much less the body to get use to what happened to it. BTW sitting has and still is rough, so don't think that you're doing bad it is just normal. Sitting puts way more disc pressure than standing can ever. I used a tripod roller with my imaging system setup just roll out, turn on and in five minutes back inside imaging. Then moved and built an observatory and taking images is easy. However, I still cannot sit an hour to process that data four years after the last fusion. So, I understand how hard it is for someone to work at a computer and you doing video processing on top of image processing - here is to you my friend, good job. Search disc pressure on Google or the link below. This is an eye opener of how bad sitting is. I ramble about sitting because at first, I thought it was silly, somehow the doctors or people would think I was just whining about not being able to just sit upright. Also hate to eat out at restaurants because I would get up to rest my back and the table party would think we were leaving. ergonomictrends.com/back-spine-pressure-chart/

Gods Speed to you Cuiv & the healing of your back. I’m about ready to go into surgery myself coz back in 2015 I had neck surgery with screws & plates & all that hardware is now falling apart in my neck & I have screws in the soft tissue now, but gotta say your screws are bigger than mine & I can’t imagine the pain you were feeling. Hopefully you can get back to your Astrophotography coz I can’t imagine life without it. Again, speedy recovery & hopefully you can bring us some more images soon. What about setting up & covering up? I think you did a video once on it that way you can image while recovering. Clear Skies My Brother In Astrophotography…

Really great seeing the spectrometer measurements for all these filters here. Can you also show the optical density on the y axis? Absolute units or percent transmission are pretty useless in showing how good the rejection band is. 1:500 or 1:100 are terrible rejection ratios by typical laser line or fluorescence filter standards. Likely they are a bit better!

Cuiv, I really enjoy your videos. Great job. I bought the Fast Baader 3.5/4 nm set (Ha, OIII, and SII - but only the OIII appears off band) from Starizona for my C14 Hyperstar. I mentioned your video to Starizona (Dean/Scott) and Scott replied back “Baader says they are not going to make any change to the f/2 filters. That made me think there was no replacements coming for the bad ones, since they didn't acknowledge that there was an issue at f/2.” So is this consistent with what you found out? Thanks, Rex

Hi, now I have another question, jaja, First of all, and most important, have a great recovery, sometimes we must learn new stuff to open new perspectives on things, and sorry for that, with covid this is old news, but anyway, for just a color camera, my ZWO ASI533MC Pro struggles with the C6 Hyperstar with light pollution from borlte 5-6, Its just an H-alpha what I need?, UHC and CLS filters do not let light, the good light come through, what you recommend?

Wishing for a complete and fast recovery. I am a bit surprised that Baader went into a real effort to rectify the situation with their filters. So, if I want to use my Canon camera lenses like the 135mm/2 and 85/1.8, it seems that I would need a different set of filters than for a typical refractor or Cassegrain scope, correct?

OMG ! Rods and those screws in your back? Still , it must be a good sign that they have been removed and now you're on to the next stage of the healing process . Stay strong eh ? As to this Video , excellent info again . Starts to make me think about the enormous contribution to this "Hobby" from so-called "Amateur Astrophotographers" . This would be an excellent Topic to explore . At what point , in Hardware and Software , does one go from Amateur to Semi-Professional ? We've all seen the incredible Scopes and Mounts available to Schools and Universities and Astro Groups but how do they compare , in Product development contributions , to the Astro World ? I doubt any Semi-Professional Setup would have even noticed the Bandpass Shift in those Filters as they tend to image from the rear of the Scopes even at F3 . Interesting . /SRK
