Not going to lie, I was aware of the existence of "trap" music or whatever they're labeling this particular form of EDM before hearing of Baauer through the popularity of Harlem Shake. But that didn't stop me from looking into and enjoying his work despite the social stigma of feeling like you had to be there from the beginning of the artist's career to appreciate the tracks.

Trap is based on the 808 Roland drum machine, synth leads, re-sampled/ pitched rap vocals, pipes, flutes, other instruments, off and on beat hi-hats, tombs, etc. Basically, its a rap song without the rapping. As to the genre of it... It's a combination of trap, dubstep, and dub.... Trapstep.

Exactly, no one can stop a song from going mainstream, They are just complaining about the inevitable because they dont want everyone knowing about music that they supposedly knew first.

BAAUER PLEASE COME TO BURLINGTON VERMONT YOUR PRETTY CLOSE IF YOU'RE IN BROOKLYN WE RAGE HARD YOU'LL LOVE US
this has to be the closest so far to originality in hip hop, someone doing something completely different, i'm no llyricist but so far this and harlem shake sound wicked with even the poorest of lyrics, top shit right here.

@yourmomsfavproducer12 жыл бұрын
i dont consider glitch hop combining them effectively because unless you are someone who understands that the drum pattern makes it glitch hop, you would say its edm. You can clearly hear elements of hip hop and edm in trap
@katiebarber40712 жыл бұрын
probably because theres a good chance that the recent spike in the popularity of the song "harlem shake" has brought a lot of people to look into Baauer's other songs. another reason to compare them is because they're both by the same artist, in case you were un aware.

This track hasn't got much to do with Hip Hop anymore, I suppose that's why you like it. You should definitely check out TNGHT, Hudson Mohawke, Rustie, S-Type and Girl Unit, they should be your kind of style.

I don't understand what the problem is with something good going mainstream, I mean at least it gives alternatives for people in other countries where there's not much good music to listen to and it helps develop the music industry hopefully in a good direction.
