George Bush invoked the Christian God when going to war in Iraq! In the US a whole lot of people believe that evolution isn't real because of their religious beliefs! I think they're both kooky, silly books, and either can be used to justify violence. As a side note I believe that the devoutness of Muslims is more than that of Christians on average, both globally, and in Europe, I'm worried about the implications of this, but you're completely oversimplifying the situation because of your bias. There are a worrying amount of Islamists, but it's not all Muslims, or even most.

If he did not plead guilty, his case would simply not come up for hearing in court, and he would have remained in jail till kingdom come. Since you know the System is set up against you and you have no chance of getting justice, even your lawyers will advise to plead guilty, as I am sure his lawyers must have done. They know this better than anyone. Look at Aafia Siddiqui's case; its pathetic. They killed her youngest child.
