For anyone who might be interested, the acid dealer/chemist Ram Dass is referring to in those hilarious stories is Nick Sand. The man is an absolute legend amongst psychedelic chemists, he synthesised tens of millions of does of the highest quality LSD, and is the chemist responsible, along with his partner Tim Scully for unleashing "orange sunshine" acid in tonnage quantities across the world. For anyone interested there are a number of his talks on youtube, one of which he refers to pure LSD being autoluminescent and emitting light in the dark; in addition there is a cool little documentary about Sand and Scully called "the sunshine makers" .
