You can tell Ram dass is content with not knowing the right answers and letting go, being open to all possibilities , where as Terrence is quite intent on understanding the exact reason on why things are the way they are. Two brilliant minds with unique different mindsets

It's living in the soul in Ram Dass case. A peace in surrender. Terrence is an explorer always searching. Interesting seeing the different approach to the world. To know or to know you don't know.

Yes but even Terrence said that "we have no clue what's going on". Not everything is knowable, and knowledge is subjective. Sometimes knowledge becomes jail of the mind. The more you think you know, the harder it gets to open your mind to possibilities that contradict your knowledge.

The absolutely most amazing part of this clip is in the middle when the waiter shows up, and these two are locked in this esoteric conversation of consciousness and awareness, and it's a beautiful conversation but they're kind of lost in it and the waiter just brings them back to reality with humor and presentness, and it's so so beautiful, the dance of it all. So beautiful.

The author left a comment on another version of this video: "I made this film and it's great to see it proliferated on the web so widely. Something that many people are interested in knowing is that the waiter was not Czech, but rather a German character named Mickey Reman who was known for promoting things like underwater concerts. Terence knew him but it was a surprise to see Mickey show up as the waiter. Ram Dass had no idea who he was and that he was anything other than a Czech waiter. Steve Marshank"

Ram Dass and Alan Watts are "right on." And this I know due to the complete education given to a true prophet of GOD. Those two men "connected the dots" correctly by listening intently. Not so of those who primarily "think." For it is not the "thinking" but the LISTENING that transform this world for the better. All human thought is limited and therefore IRRATIONAL by definition. And the Mind that is ALL, which many call "GOD," is our true Mind and the only Source of true, rational Thought. Our goal is to listen only to that Mind, and not the ego mind, as Jesus Christ did. Terrence probably would have chosen to go ‘on’ as opposed to the nutty world that is today. Especially here in the Divided States. I’m probably wrong, and it would be amazing to hear his take on how technology has taken off. He did catch the very beginnings of the internet; 95-2000 (I believe he died around then). But wasn’t here for the cell phone onslaught, rich guys launching themselves up in their own rockets 🚀, and so much more. It would be very interesting to hear his take on that, and everything from 911 to dare I say his name…#45 (I won’t say it).

Ram Dass makes an epic point on the counterrevolution topic. Where McKenna sees humanity has regressed from the psychedelic progress of the 60s, Ram Dass explains that on the whole people in the west are fed up with the countercultural materialism and idealism because of its continued prevalence. It’s almost like watching the same movie over and over. Sure the movie itself could be the best movie ever made, but eventually it gets old and one begins to hope that there’s got to be more to life than this. To me, the fact that the struggle of the western man causes a certain angst of existing while starving people in India are joyful further proves that the psychedelic explosion of the 60s was the way humanity should be going. And of course you will always have society stuck in its ways. The question becomes whether we can collectively get to a point where society and all the things that come with it are seen in the same light that something like slavery or racism is currently, as relics of the past that we all accept as part of our history but are no longer used.

I've come to this after listening to Terrance McKenna for the past three days, and my balance of who I thought is closer to "It, the Truth" has wobbled back and forth during this conversation. It's so extraordinary to see how their ideas weave around each other, sometimes divergent and other times flowing side by side, and everytime I think one of them has come to the conclusion of a particular thread of understanding they say more and I realize that it's really not that linear. Something I think that I find interesting is that McKenna doesn't seem to realize that he is not a passive observer of cultural evolution but has *created* the emergence of the sages that he is scanning the horizon for. And I'm tickled that Ram Das decided to stop at the heart reacts and say that is the goal of consciousness. How awesome it is to stand on the shore of being looking at these amazing bubbles.

These two men and others made an indelible impact on me during my formative years. Having had the door to my psyche opened by hallucinogens for it to be later kicked off it's hinges by the Shakti all adds to the enjoyment of their perspectives so many years later. The waiter was like icing on a cake. Just perfect thank you all.

For "part 2" see Ram Dass and Alan Watts. Elijah has returned in these "end times," as prophesied. I correspond only via my contact page.

I can relate to Terrance saying I don't want my life to be my message because my life is muddled. I don't want people to know what path I attempt to follow because I don't want to give the path a bad reputation.

For me this interview is giving a glimpse at how amazing the future of humanity really is. The fact that these two brilliant individuals have perfected their conquest for consciousness on two entirely different fields and in two entirely unexpected different ways, and still are able to see and talk. I also see how McKenna was influenced by this talk in some of the things he said later down the line. Psychedelics and Yoga really are two different pointers to two different things. The future of humanity entails heightened perceptual abilities, contact with non-physical beings, and space travel. All the whilte traversing the landscape of Climate control, relationship to AI and most importantly the relationship to our own soul.

In my assumption in trying to think about thousands of psychedelic trips, rather than just mine, what they seem to do, generically is that they seem to dissolve boundaries. And the ego is in the business of creating maintaining and defending boundaries. So I really see the psychedelics as directly intervening in the core process which is running us over the edge, which is, our inability to emotionally connect with the consequences of what we are doing. If for a single moment we could feel what we are doing, we would stop. - T.M

For all those who are blown away by this, it's important to keep in mind that these are just two human beings talking to each other and that we all have the potential for our human brains to understand the concepts that they've spent years studying. Every human is capable of the "enlightenment" that these men seem to have because (for the most part) we all share the same brain structure. Read Dune by Frank Herbert if you're a fan of the cerebral commentary of the human condition, it would have been fascinating to hear him talk to either of these men

Tree Fountain (aka Tree of Life) 1- Bore a hole into and up a tree being careful not to bisect the core of the tree. 2- Coat the inside of the hole with beeswax. 3- Put a water basin at the top and a fire pit or fireplace at the bottom. 4- Put copper pipe around the inside of the fire pit or up the chimney for a fireplace. This will act as a pump. (You can also use a hotplate if you prefer) 5- Add water wheels (fidget spinners can be used for some decent mini water wheels) for electricity. 6- Add hanging gardens for fresh produce. 7- Splice other saplings and/or fresh tree cuttings using the tongue and groove method for shelter. This design provides food, filtered and conditioned water and air, electricity, shelter and SO much more! Everything a person needs for life and survival. Hence the "Tree of Life" nickname!
