Here, in this ghazal, the great Khan Saab had infused life into the beautiful lafz of Zahid Fatehpuri Saab with the exact feel, as depicted in the kalam, owing to his magical voice and inimitable style of gayiki ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it thoroughly ! "Bahut Hi Sukun Mila Sunkar !" The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the synonyme of soft, soothing, and soulful music ! Professionalism, Perfection, and Sophistication in performance was the hallmark of the great Khan Saab ! His style of gayiki was pretty simple, soft, effortless, soothing, and soulful but overbearing and very difficult to emulate ! Besides, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had something divine in his voice, which had set him apart from other singers ! He had given ghazal gayiki a pedestal, which will be very difficult to surpass ! I also feel that only with the excellent tabla support such ghazals becomes more and more melodious. Very true. The characteristics of a tablature is that of Peer Buxji. In the photo. Every tabla player has his own. I am keen listener for over 50 years. Have been to several of his concerts in UK and he used to stay with one of my friends who was his promoter in UK and mainland Europe. I have met him a few times. His favourites were Ustad Shaukat Ji , Buxji and Tariji.

Having first heard the King of Gazals first time around 1980-82 , during my graduation days , from the Tape recorder of my neighbour, I tried to sing his Gazal RAFTA RAFTA... in March 2023 .
