I loved the Rainforest Cafe!!! The one I went to always had long lines of people waiting to eat there. The food at that one was amazing!!! I was sad when they closed. I enjoyed the jungle atmosphere. You could walk around and enjoy the scenery after or before you ate. It was very cool.

Just because Babble doesn't miss them doesn't mean that everyone else agrees. In my teen years, Big Boy was a staple and I wish they were still around. Krystal is alive and doing well where I live in the South. I often think that Babble says stuff just to get people to click.

@@Ferf3o Funny how they talk about the demise of Big Boy, but show video of Frischs Big Boy, which still has a hundred active locations. Babble is that third grader that reads a third of a book, looks at the cover art intensely, then writes a three page book report so full of holes, it's comical.

My mom worked at a White Tower in Detroit. There was a theater there named Easttown. They up and coming attractions there. She used to go home and complain about young people "Hoped up on goofballs!" I wonder how many rockstars she met they were on their way up. Also, I thought that "hopped up on goofballs" was something she made up until I watched "The Simpsons". She also would call TV interruptions "drunk at the station" and LOL when I saw that on the show.

FUN FACTS : Then in 1946, at an industry convention in California, Dave met Bob Wian who introduced him to a double-decker hamburger called the “Big Boy.” Dave secured permission to adopt the concept but personalized the Big Boy by dressing it with a specially formulated tartar sauce unique to Frisch's.😁

I’ve been to the rainforest cafe in New Jersey before, their food wasn’t that good plus they forgot some of our food and added an extra burger to the bill, however their service might have been bad, but the inside is really cool with all of the animals and everything but the only thing about the inside is that they put us basically in the fog machines so we were kinda wet after and when we were in there u couldn’t really see the person sitting next to you because of the fog so I don’t really recommend going there for the food but it can be a cool experience!

Thought I might see Wag's Restaurant on the list. I think there were around a 100 at their peak. I was working at their Roosevelt Field Mall location when they shut its doors in the late 80's. I also worked at a Chi-Chis after that as well as another now non-existent chain called Bennigans. I also remember eating at Beefsteak Charlies when it first became a chain in the 70's. The idea of all you can eat bread, shrimp, and salad was a mind blowing concept back then especially to a 10 year old.

"PLANT CITY, Fla. - Another landmark restaurant is being torn down, this time in Plant City. Demolition started Thursday on Buddy Freddy’s, a down-home restaurant known for its massive country-style breakfast buffet. The restaurant closed earlier in 2020, but the place has been around for years, with roots back to the 1950s. If you love food, there is a bright side. Economic development officials say a Chick-Fil-A is going in its place, but there’s no word on exactly when that will happen. The site is on Goldfinch Drive, right off of Thonotosassa Road." posted may 20 2021 courtesy of fox 13

Guess what? Steak & Ale is on the verge of a revival! Also, FYI BTW, the last remaining Sambo’s is now known as Chad’s.

I suppose you can say that, but where I live there are still several of the original buildings that have always been dinners just like Sambos was. But since its called Chad's, is it really Sambos ? Most of the ones in my rea are now Dennys,....one is called Randys, and another is a tavern that makes a 14" pizza with 2" of toppings ,....my fave is the sausage and mushroom,...it is to die for.

My wife and I had our first date in a Steak and Ale. Not surprisingly, we lasted longer than the restaurant.

Sambos in Santa Barbara is thriving. The locals here love it. It’s pretty awesome.

Kenny Rogers was actually very good - much better than Boston Market. I never understood why KR failed and BM succeeded.
