I started learning how to cook and eat at home after I was told, "If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to eat out!!" I use to eat all 3 meals out. Once I started cooking at home, I seen a decrease in my weight and an increase in my bank account! I wanna thank that waitress. But the restaurant is shutdown now.

You know, there are a lot of narratives that I agree with to push back against this, but I have to agree, the top men or women who head these companies know full well the obesity epidemic the USA faces, you would think! No matter what your "ideology" is, they would start adjusting, revamping, and improving the quality for how prices are, it's doable too, hire an organic supplier for volume etc... do brand deals for *new launched quality" with food delivery etc... wouldn't fix "inflation" but at least increase our value! 🤦 This is the difference between a Adam Smith's "capitalism" model, (1776) and the now clearly adopted Molton Freedoms model "profit above customer value" capitalism, this is the real issue, root cause, aside from "CEO" narrative, CEOs have always been "greedy" but under a Adam Smith "model" they were "greedy" for best quality for the cx, as oppose to best profit. Gotta get back to Adam Smith Capitalism, Anyone reading this, Look up Adam Smiths Wealth of Nations 👍🙏✌️🎄

Other problems are fast food joints demanding your ss# or ph# to get a burger, ckn, or pizza. I usually just give a fake# but my last visit to our local Pizza Hut triggered me when he asked for my ph#. It was dinner time, their floor was empty, their line in the back didnt even have one pizza cooking on the rack. I just squared my eyes at him as this was the first time this place has asked for a ph#. I told him him you dont need my ph# to sell me a pizza. He was a millennial so he got his pannies in a wad and refused to serve me. This store back in the 80's early 90's was busy every day, all day with their buffet and dinner time families ordering from the menu. I just shook my head. This soy boy did what all millennialls and snowflakes do, they cop an attitude when they dont have a common sense answer to their problem they present to you. Summary: Here are the 15 restaurant chains listed from the transcript along with a summary of why they might close in 2025: Red Lobster - Facing financial difficulties due to rising seafood costs, particularly for lobster and shrimp, unsustainable promotions like endless shrimp deals, and competition from fast-casual seafood concepts. The parent company, Thai Union, is restructuring U.S. operations due to significant losses. Boston Market - Known for rotisserie chicken, it's grappling with lawsuits regarding wage theft and unsafe working conditions, coupled with declining sales and competition from home meal delivery and grocery store hot bars. Applebee's - Suffering from high inflation affecting its middle-income customer base, the chain's signature deals are less attractive as prices rise, and younger consumers prefer trendier, faster dining options. Chili's - Facing competition from fast-casual Mexican chains with lower price points, struggling with high costs for food, labor, and utilities, and seeing profit margins shrink to their lowest in decades. Buffalo Wild Wings - Struggling with skyrocketing chicken wing prices, reduced alcohol sales, and a shift towards healthier dining options among younger customers, leading to fewer visits on game days. Subway - Franchisees are dealing with lawsuits over predatory leases and mandatory upgrades, while customer dissatisfaction grows due to inconsistent quality and perceived disingenuous menu changes. TGI Fridays - Experiencing declining customer traffic due to an overcrowded casual dining market, with closures due to unprofitability, and attempts to appeal to younger demographics not yielding significant results. IHOP - Sales are declining as consumers opt for cheaper breakfast alternatives, with rising ingredient costs pushing up menu prices. The brand also faced backlash from the "IHOb" marketing stunt. Checkers and Rallies - Hit by supply chain issues, competition from larger fast-food chains, and customer complaints about service and quality, leading to significant location closures. Outback Steakhouse - Rising beef prices and a shift away from sit-down dining are impacting profitability. Efforts to modernize haven't successfully attracted younger diners. Sbarro - The decline of traditional malls has affected its primary market, with competition from delivery-focused pizza chains and boutique pizzerias, alongside rising ingredient costs. Ruby Tuesday - Struggling to recover from bankruptcy, facing high operational costs, and unable to compete with fast-casual trends, leading to a significant reduction in locations. Chuck E. Cheese - Its business model is less appealing in a digital-first era, with declining foot traffic, high debt, and issues with location upkeep and legal troubles. Hard Rock Cafe - Losing relevance as a themed dining experience, with high operational costs in prime locations and a lack of interest from younger generations amidst a slow post-pandemic recovery. Pizza Hut - Losing market share to competitors with better delivery and digital strategies, coupled with quality control issues and rising costs, leading to location closures and strategic reconsiderations. These chains are all navigating a challenging landscape marked by economic pressures, changing consumer behaviors, and intense competition.

Personally, restaurants charge now more and offer less ( food quality, quantity). In a world where the cost of living is rising, I find that eating out is not an absolute need; but just a luxury. I'm eating much less in restaurants, & now find that my weight is now down to more normal levels & I generally feel better ( I think my body thanks me for consuming less unhealthy foods). We certainly will not have a general public starve because of restaurants vanishing in 2025.

Even with a great economy. All of these restaurants are way way over rated! No great loss

I used to really like Boston Market. They just closed anywhere near me. I never liked Applebees, Ruby Tuesday or TGI Fridays. I like IHOP. I like Sbarro. No one goes to Chuck E. Cheese unless they are having a kids party. For me the quality and taste of the food is key. I don't like the pizza from Pizza Hut. It is oily on the bottom and the crust is soggy. So many other pizza restaurants that are so much better.

I’m not surprised by rally’s. Their fries and banana shakes are great

pizza hut might as well go 18 dollars minimum to get delivery is stupid most competitors dont have that requirement

I'm shocked Boston Market made it this long 😲 Last time I went to Red lobster it was owned by General Mills and I ordered a lobster, snow crab meal. Once the waitress brought the food to the table I responded to her saying "Excuse me I ordered the lobster and snow crab, not the crawfish and twig meal😒 so disappointing. As for Sparro , just no.

Folks need to learn how to cook. The money spent at a restaurant in one day can be used to cook three days of meals.

I’ve never been to Applebees. There are no locations in Los Angeles

I never failed to get slow service from Popeyes. It’s too bad, because I like their food it’s always slow and always with a little bit of attitude.
