Thank you for such a beautiful blanket! I appreciate your not editing out when the yarn splits on you or when you have an oops. I learn from my oops and others. It’s also comforting to know others even more experienced crafters have the same problems.

This is a great pattern all the way around and on so many levels! It teaches a lot of skills including identifying stitches and how to cross cables. I did have some difficulty at first, with the first cross on row 8... couldn’t seem to get it. I also left a whiny comment about that difficulty during the peak of my frustration, but I deleted it. Lol. I love Bonnie’s videos and she’s a fabulous teacher so I knew if I just kept trying even in the face of frustration I’d get it eventually, and I did. To anybody having trouble at first just keep trying! It really is true that you can do it by feel if you just keep trying. I’m like an old pro now. ;) You’re a great teacher Bonnie thanks for this video, and for all the other ones too! This is my third project from your patterns and I’ve significantly improved my crochet skills with each one! Incidentally I modified this blanket to be adult size with 11 cables across. Increased the fp/bp dc border to 3” all the way around (9 rows on top and at bottom, and 16 stitches in each side), and added a wattle to each end of the row next to the expanded side border, to increase a little of the flat fabric space for aesthetics. I’ll probably end up doing rows 8-23 around 12 times, and using around 5600 - 6000 yards of yarn. Final dimensions will be about 60” x 52”. I’m about halfway through now and it’s absolutely fabulous! Thanks again Bonnie for all you do! xo

I’m wondering…what are the approximate dimensions of this blanket in DK weight yarn?
@fruitastic19913 жыл бұрын
If I used worsted weight yarn instead of dk weight do think it would be wide enough for an adult afghan? Or would I need to add more wheat cables? 🤔 this is very similar to your autumn cable throw just without the ribbing in-between the cables.

You may need to add additional cables for width in my opinion.

Hi Bonnie, in row 2 do you finish with a back post or front post? I know you put a hdc in the 2 chain hole but do you work the post just prior to that? (ie the one that if you worked the post would actually work into that hole where the hdc goes). I hope that makes sense
