Babu your music has changed me. I suffer from psychotic illnesses and I listen to this song and your music on repeat. It calms me down and it’s something that no other artist can do. And your music has such a melancholy sound and it makes me feel even more calm. Everyday I struggle to get out of bed because I can’t find a reason, and it’s sometimes hard to even live. But listening to your music just somehow can help me, build up my energy and it just makes me want to sleep. I don’t know if what I said makes sense but. Thank you for doing what you do. What if it is connected with 屋上のマツユキソウ (snow drop) ? Snow drop was released just after Yahan no tsuki. In Yahan no tsuki, she talks about what she see/hear : the rain making sound, the music festival, the melody of a ghost, the insects which are also talked about in Snow drop : "beautiful insects will dance outside". In Snow drop, she talks about what she see too, with the moon laughing, the scenery in the window, the insects... Continuing in Yahan no tsuki, she talks about someone who became the moon, which could mean they died, they went to the sky (a metaphor which was already used in Moon Prescription : "It won’t get through anymore, since you don’t have the arms to grasp the stars or the legs to ascend to the moon.") "I became a shadow" is where my interpretation connect with Snow Drop the most. The notes used in this moment, along with "You and me together, it's just us" ressemble the notes used in Snow Drop (even if all the song ressembles Snow Drop a lot in term of melody). Maybe it is insinuating the narrator has forgotten herself just as she did in Snow Drop. She doesn't remember herself, thus becoming a shadow of her past self. She only remembers her dead friend, and a sentence of her living life : the last sentence of the song. Furthermore, there are silhouettes of children appearing in the end, which could be reminiscences of the narrator's past/childhood. In Snow Drop, the narrator also talks about someone she can't hug anymore. The repetition of the last sentence also makes me think of the repetition of "boku wa" in snow drop.

There is probably a mistake in translation in a part with "dinner bell". I would translate it like this: "With the first chirping of the warbler, let's meet together in this midnight moon". The only theory i came to in final was that all the characters (family members and animal) died in one place (prob a family house) maybe through many years (of old age) or by accident, it doesn't matter. And the one singing is a ghost of a child of this family who had mom, dad and a close friend, who suppose to be a moon now.

this song sounds like betrayal. I can’t really explain it, but it just feels like slowly learning everything you knew and loved wasn’t what you thought it was and never felt the same for you. it just sounds like betrayal. like the slow and heart wrenching kind. like the kind where you feel helpless, that you know nothing can be done about what just happened, but you still can’t believe it’s all just slipping from your hands, right before your eyes. it sounds like waking up and momentarily forgetting about everything that happened the night before, only for it to hit again, and stab even deeper. this song helps me in a way, when I think about it like that. it’s calming. thank you babu

If I look just at the translation of the lyrics I could almost see this as a lullaby that's kinda off putting. That "Goodbye. Thank you" though makes it sound like it's given to someone who's dying. And the whole thing opens and closes on a piano mimicking the "Incoming train" warning. The only thing I can even really make out about the end is that they say it's "The moon of midnight" and that the one being sung to at first "became the moon" so they're getting attacked?? I couldn't quite make out what the song was about until I put all this together. What a sad song...

Did they both died jumping under the train? Then i don't quite understand why one of the character is a moon (like observer from above) and other is a shadow (like a ghost). Maybe the one singing is crying over the death of other, so, moon associates with a dead one and shadow is a lost singing person who have no point to live anymore and jumps under the train. I love how "midnight moon" contrasts with "dinner (midday) bell" like it's no matter for characters what time is it, for them it's nothing. Probably dinner bell compares with coming train warning, like it's often for Japanese to hear it at midday, then they go for a dinner, i suppose.... I'm not sure, but i can't explain this line in any other way! If you would explain your point of veiw i hope it will get my theory in an appropriate order \0/
