Okay, this was quite hard to translate because of Hitokilli's unique choices of words and phrasings. Honestly, it was quite confusing to me (not in a bad way, Hitokilli's style is very poetic and I personally like it), but I've done what I could and I hope this translation helps for everyone! Also, please do tell if someone might notice some mistakes in my translation. Thank you! I think In Cave is mainly expressing about the struggles of (both physical and social) isolation during Covid. The ironic thing is that, in Japan, death can be found both inside and outside due to suicide rate increase caused by isolation/quarantine. I've also noticed the one-eyed figures in Babuchan's most recent songs like Sin Bloom, Inside, We love pizza, In The End, and this song In Cave. I was wondering what it might be and I have two theories. One, it's a symbolization of Covid and it's depicted as a monster that devours people's lives. Two, it's a symbolization of Human's negative emotions and it grows even more ominous due to constant isolation and fear. On the bright side though, things have gotten better lately. People will sooner or later adapt to this new environment. Most of us who's fortunate enough also have got vaccinated and it's definitely a great thing. We've proved that despite the countless number of deaths we're still able to survive as a species, kudos for us! For anyone who might still strugge with the new life, please don't give up yet! This is not the end and as Babuchan would might say "Don't let the virus beat you! Let's keep living in this fucked up world dechu!" @DamareSAN I wouldn't disagree with you! I think Babuchan purposefully made the song ambiguous enough for us to interpret it in such ways. However, what made me convinced that the message is particularly about Covid was because Babuchan mentioned about this quite a few times on his Twitter and at the beginning of In Cave's premiere, he said something like "Don't let the virus beat us!" (in Japanese, obviously) implying the song was going to be mainly about that. He also struggled a lot during the creation of the album to the point where he cancelled live shows and got into huge debt.
