(PS: i have taken the translation of hitokili's rap from @blood-water 's comment, so the credit for that goes to him.) *螺鈿の骨(Raden no hone) mean "Mother-of-pearl Bones", But also "Raden Bones". **This is a line from Mantra of Light, a Buddhist sutra, repeated four times. ***This line is taken from a chinese poem, which was then rapped in Japanese. ****The shakkou refers to the sixth day of the Rokuyo calendar, in which it is believed that it will be unlucky the whole day, except for noon (between 11am-1pm) *****This line references the double suicide of Osamu Dazai and Tomie Yamazaki, they drowned themselves in the Tamagawa Aqueduct.

This line is taken from a chinese poem (江楼夕望招客), which was then rapped in Japanese. 4. this stanza is written entirely in kanji, and resembles buddhist sutras. A "pseudo-sutra", if you will. 5. use your imagination. 6. 赤口, shakkou, refers to the sixth day of the Rokuyo calendar, in which it is believed that day will be unlucky the whole day, except for noon (which is considered to be between 11am-1pm). However, for simplicity’s sake, I simply translated it as ‘unlucky day’. Literally, it translates to “Red mouth” 7. “Shojou zennin ku e issho” (lit. The kanji here are read like the on’yomi of the characters 4, 3, 2, 1-”Yo, mi, fu, hi”. They most likely don’t have any meaning beyond that, but for the curious, the kanji mean ‘Yomi (Japanese land of the dead)’, and ‘not one’. Mother of pearl bones - one of the greatest piece! It sounds kinda japanish restraintly. A bit sad and lyrical sound of traditional japanese instruments blend together with babuchan's broken electronic glitch world. And this cover shows this beautiful song as something new again. Amazing! 👶👑 Years ago, Mother of Pearl Bones was one of the first songs I ever tried singing seriously on KZbin, and even though it wasn't great and not many people heard it, I had more confidence in my mixing ability after that. The experience helped me in later musical projects, by myself and eventually on stage with other musicians I respect! Hearing it again makes me want to try one more time. hihii sorry im very late but!!! this is for anyone else wondering if you have already figured it out!!! The guy's name is hitokilli and he often writes lyrics referencing japanese buddhism (hence the mantra of light sequence), and as I was looking over these lyrics, it seemed they were referencing buddhism as well. I'm not very good at translating his lyrics, mostly since I know nearly nothing about buddhism :') but this is roughly what it says: "Mortal desires in contrast to true enlightenment, life and death in contrast to Nirvana--they're two sides of the same coin." (this part consists buddhist sayings) the other part says something like "Taiin (the greater yin) and taiji (The supreme ultimate)", which come from chinese philosophy. Luckily, these, in contrast to the sayings, can be found on wikipedia in english if you're interested It ends off with stating that "they (taiin and taiji) two seperate sides of the same coin." i hope this helps!!!
