the MJ Axantic line make the best looking Axanthic Pieds aka "Lightning Pieds." some people just started calling Axanthic Pieds Lightning Pieds, but Mark coined the phrase "Lightning Pied" first with his line of Axanthic.

I’ve been using RODI water for my reptiles for quite a few years now. I used to keep Panther Chameleons and used RO water to prolong the life of the misting heads on my misting system, but now I use it to avoid unsightly water marks in my enclosures after spraying.

do you use bottom heat with a heat pad? it could be that they are set a bit too hot as there are so many slugs and infertiles.

I did a lot of research into drinking water, and what I found is that you actually do not want to drink straight RO water because it has nothing in it. Water is naturally equalizing so pure water with a 0 (or close to) TDS, such as RO water, will actually leach minerals and other nutrients from your body. The great thing about RO is that you're starting from scratch, but ever since figuring that out, I've always added a small amount of trace minerals to the water even for drinking and it works wonderfully. However, what I've found is that there's no difference, health wise, between it and tap providing your tap water is good quality and it doesn't have excess chlorine/chloramine. Running it through a carbon filter to remove some impurities and the chlorine/chloramine is a good idea, depending on your water report.

I had the same quandary when buying some additional cages this year, I have been drooling over those Focus Habitats for a year now but it feels like a crime to add cages that don't match my current setup! Here is to hoping you have success with those eggs, you have such beautiful adults, I missed out this year but I'll be watching for a male to come available from you in the coming year/years.

A few weeks ago my buddy bought a new condro. A couple years old but when he feed it I noticed its throat was black. It didn’t seem normal to me but I don’t have much experience myself. Its tongue is black too. My initial thought was it has a really bad ri but its eating fine and doing everything it should. Is it possible the black throat is normal Gary?

The problem with filtering water through a RO unit is it removes all the good minerals that will be beneficial to your animals ,if you could run it through and just remove the chlorine it would be perfect! I have heared that you can purchase minerals in powder form to add to the water after being filtered through the RO unit! I've been using tap water for 27 years with my Boas and Pythons and it hasn't caused me any problems. I fill a couple of buckets up and leave them stand for 24 hours,this will let the chlorine dissolve without losing beneficial minerals,hope this helps.

I used to breed northern, but I gave it up because of defacation problems. I had to spray them down for long periods to get a defacation. Do you have the same problem with basins?
@gsreptiles5606 Жыл бұрын
Hi Nichlas! Defecation problems = Humidity Problems I spray my enclosures every 4-6 days (depending upon season) and magically my animals defecate. You are correct though......they can be stubborn with relieving themselves at times. Thanks for watching!
