Seonghwa said that at first he asked to be styled in heels and a lacey top that looked like a dress instead of the Bowie look, but after seeing San’s outfit they realized it would overshadow him (because they were partnered up for the warehouse scene) so he went for a more toned down look. Yeah Jongho was injured or rather recovering from surgery on his knee. Also yeah he’s really taken extra lessons even in LA to make sure he’s keeping his voice healthy. The guy is so hard working on his voice and he never attributes it to raw talent. He says it’s all hard work and he’s always relentless with training. Like the members say it really motivates them because he could be satisfied with his talent but he continues to push for more. So yeah he’s pretty cool and so so talented at a young age. (The way he knows when and where to place dynamics when he sings ballads really shows his maturity behind his years lol) so yes his voice is super satisfying to us vocal nerds.

Omg I love Les Miz too! Seonghwa recently embodied Enjolras completely when he did this regal flag dance in ATEEZ’s recent Immortal Songs performance from June 2023 - it’s here on yt so check it out if you haven’t yet. (Immortal Songs is a Korean mainstream singing competition show where no lipsync is allowed so idols rarely go on there. However since ateez always sings live anyway, they’ve gone on there six time AND WON 4 TIMES! The most wins of any idol band in history~).

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you have like 4-5-6 biases 😂Which is completely valid and I support you! Your bias(es) choose(s) you after all. One of my favourite things about ATEEZ is, yes their songs bang and they're hella talented, but also their MVs are always top tier. From cinematography to editing, it's always so cool and such a good time. And yes Jongho had a leg injury and I believe it got worse in September (during KCON LA) so he likely couldn't participate in the choreo scenes for the MV filming. He must be feeling better now though since he's been a part of the music show promotions this comeback.

idk if anyone else has answered this yet but the reason jongie doesn't show up during any of the dance shots is bc he was still recovering from a pretty bad knee injury when they started filming this. thats also why most of his screentime has him sitting. im glad he was able to take the time he needed to recover AND my baby bear still ended up with some of the most iconic parts in the mv. jongho stays fucking slaying!!! 😱😵

oh my god the les mis abc cafe students comment was so accurate i'm crying how did i not notice before (also, aaron tveit as enjolras!! major theatre kid throwback lol. that movie is of... questionable quality, but aaron tveit and samantha barks definitely delivered). jongho was missing for a lot of this mv, including the ending scene, because he was recovering from a surgery for a meniscus rupture and couldn't dance.

yes jongho was out of commision in terms of dancing for a while! and while we haven't had official confirmation (that i know of) that injury is probably the reason why hes not in the group dance scenes. jongho did say in their reaction to the mv that he filmed his scenes and then left so he didnt get to watch his hyungs do their thing either 😢

The Jongho thing before the first chorus is basically just him being able to keep his arm really still for a bit, and then adding in the muzzle flash after. Surprisingly, it doesn't need that much effort, and it looks really good if you have particle effects that freeze, since that's mainly what you'll be paying attention to.

Don't worry about pausing a lot, it shows you're genuine (and there is a LOT going on in Ateez MV's to take in, so it's almost a requirement to catch what's happening ahha) If you're not sure what to watch next, I would suggest these special clips; Hongjoong's Walker A, Mingi's Untitled, Yeosang's Hug Me cover, Seonghwa's Angel Baby cover, Wooyoung's Etham 12:45 cover and Jongho's series of covers, known as jjongst (1-5) and his special clip Wildflower! They as a group also covered Bruno Mars Leave the Door Open. 🤩 These videos highlight their vocals in different ways. Since you're vocally trained, I think you would enjoy them!! ♡ at 19:00 when you noticed Jongho wasn't in the end scene, this was being filmed while he was recovering from a knee injury he had to get surgery for. That's why he wasn't in any of the dancing scenes and you only see him sitting/walking. But don't worry! He's healed now and currently only dancing in important promotions and resting for others!
