You NAILED it! They produce modern music that sounds fresh. Their discography spans almost 6 years now, and their first songs (pirate king/treasure) stand up just fine to their newest songs (work/empty box). But I've noticed when they embrace genres, they embrace decades as well. They have a LOT of vibes from the 80s and 90s that they have managed to distill the good parts out of and bring them into the 2020s.

I think r&b vocals are a lot more used in kpop than soft rock and I feel Ateez is very good in soft rock vocals which gives them a very interesting sound together, there are people that doesn't give them a lot of credit for that cause they are so used with the r&b vocals that any style of singing that isn't using it's influence isn't that great, but honestly there is a lot of great quality in the rock influence that people dismiss cause isn't mainstream today like used to be. The empty box song feeling nostalgic is cool I mean, is a soft rock ballad, many of us grew up listening to that kind of music and is conforting. I remember devoring Silver Chair album when I broke up and was my confort zone around that time lol. The thing is Ateez mix so well a lot of good stuff from music, rock vocals, edm, ethnical genres and other genres that is very pleasent, their songs don't feel outdated which remind me a lot of good rock and pop songs that we don't see that much today and those vocals they give them in the most stable way while live and dancing is so good. I have being to many metal concerts when I was younger and their concert even tho is kpop gave me the best metal concert vibe possible, was loud, powerful fun and with great theatrical and vocals. If you have the chance to check one of their concertsm you gonna enjoy they are great engaging with audience and hyping them.

I actually tend to agree, I think when you look back at the history of KPop in general, the vocals have almost always been influenced by R&B so I think there is a lot of people that just expect it to stay that way, and sadly I think if I was KPop I think a lot of the old guard are not quite ready to adjust, yet. but I am super impressed with these vocals! honestly, I just went and saw Purple Kiss and the crowd was so nuts! it felt like a metal show! I can totally see what you mean, I plan on exploring a lot more ATEEZ so I will absolutely try to watch some lives, and maybe in time I will be able to see them in person!

I'd nvr imagined becoming a kpop stan in my 40s but when an artist I'd admired collaborated with them on an mv back in 2020, i decided to give the mv a watch and was instantly hooked. I love their entire discography. I think it appeals to a wide range of demographics. So older fans (like me) who enjoyed listening to music of the 80s, 90s and early 00s appreciate that appeal. These guys have such bright, endearing personalities and are amazing live performers. Attending their concert was actually one of the best things that happened to me last year. 🎉🎉🎉

Since i see you enjoyed their song say my name in this video and halazia is also one of your favorites then you must watch "HALA HALA" and "WONDERLAND" (they weren't in this video). ATEEZ are amazing performers and they have really amazing music production that they aren't afraid to experiment with. They recently performed at Coachella (it was incredible I highly recommend checking it out) and they just performed at Mawazine festival (the first ever kpop group) which was super cool because their debut music video was filmed there in Morocco, so it really felt like a full circle moment. They come from a really small company, so seeing them go back to where they started out after achieving success that both ATEEZ and us (ATINY) never could have dreamed of was a really emotional moment. They are known for really intense performances with very stable vocals and captivating facial expressions. Some songs you might enjoy are: Wake Up, Cyberpunk, Dune, This World, New World, Arriba, Take Me Home, and Mist. They are also going on tour this summer and if you have the chance to see them I highly recommend it. I've seen them live twice (I'm going to see them on this tour as well!) and their concerts are out of this world it's an amazing experience.

I want to recommend some videos that might get you to know them a little bit deeper. Hongjoong the Captain and Jongho the main vocalist have each their own episode on Lee Mujin Service. A show were the idol can sing covers of songs that have influenced them and they hold dear. and recently Hongjoong was on a show called "I.M on the Beat" it is a show where self produced idols talk more in deep about their production process and their inspiration. I think these videos can give you some very good insight into the group and the members based on their musical taste. Also, super excited to see Ateez on your channel Aron. I am a relatively new atiny but have been hearing about them for a while. My first official dive into the group was during Bouncy, now they have entered into one of my ult groups status. You already listen to many of my ults in your channel and i am super happy you are liking what you hear.

Yay!!! I'm so excited for more Ateez. I've spent the whole month focused on them and I love them a lot. Left to right is Jongho (the maknae, with the powerful voice, he was in the Love Poem cover with Eunkwang and Seungmin). Next is San (my bias runner up number 1, he's a dancer, I mean they all dance great but his idol is Kai and it shows in his stage presence), Wooyoung (i have nothing to add about him, he's awesome though), then Yeosang (also nothing to add, doesn't means he isn't also amazing). With the glasses is Hongjoong (the Captain, he writes and produces all their songs), next to him is Yunho (my bias runner up number 2, he's a fan of Yunho from TVXQ and so am I lol). Silver hair is Mingi (my actual bias, I went into the group with preconceived biases but Mingi blindsided me, 🤷) and on the right end is Seunghwa (he likes Kai too, they gifted each other Lego I heard, cute). I think the thing with the war cries and the kind of deep chanting in some of their songs is specifically because their original concept is that they are pirates. Especially their early songs remind me of sailors chanting as they hoist sail or something. So that's why they emphasize that chest voice in a lot of their songs. Aside from Halazia which I agree is perfect, my favourite songs are Bouncy (one of my favourite mv's ever) and The Real (also a must see mv).
@Killdeer254 күн бұрын
yes! finally! we can see more ATEEZ! I am super excited, I figured that the silver haired one was Mingi because I had seen someone talk about how him and Felix are like the popular deep voices in KPop, hey! TVXQ! and Kai? they have good tastes! I could see why you think so highly of them haha! yes! I think The Real is probably the next song I do, as cool as Killing Voices is, it is kind of a sampler style isn't it?

I always love to hear what your take is Kristen. I really sat up and took notice with Crazy Form so I am new to the party but oh have I fallen. I was about to set my sights on Seventeen which I have spent years avoiding but Ateez pulled out its claws so Seventeen will have to wait a bit longer. Trying to pick a bias is really hard hahaha at the mo it's either Seunghwa or Yunho but dear Yeosang is creeping up. I love Mingi as I don't know why but he sounds Irish to me hahaha and from what I have seen in the bits of variety stuff yeah he has an odd Irish vibe ah I digress. San is lovely. He was utterly adorable on the episode of Running Man as he along with Kai adores Kim Jong Kook. I think I mentioned it before but If you like San well worth the fun, he worked so hard at all the games, protecting the female guest but I think it was all to impress Jong Kook. The two dance practices for Work are really great too.
@kristenblack602620 сағат бұрын
@@sandman3384 Haha I can totally see Mingi as an Irishman! I get it. I knew a few of their songs and have seen Kingdom but Mingi was on hiatus for anxiety back then so I was not familiar with him at all and did not expect him to become my favourite. I wasn't even paying much attention to him at first. Not sure what happened there. But I have crushed on many an Irish actor so maybe that's the reason. 😆I really love them all and could easily classify them all as bias wreckers. San, Seunghwa and Hongjoon are unexpectedly sweet and shy given how intense they are on stage. I shouldn't have been as surprised by that as a Kai fan. I love Wooyoung's laugh. Jongho's maknae on top vibe is funny too. Yeosang is lovely and Yunho is just feels like a leading man in a drama. I've seen several clips of them with Jong Kook and both San and Mingi were fanboying pretty hard but I haven't seen the Running Man episode. I'll have to check it out. If you haven't, you should check out an episode of hello82 where they have to do an English speaking fan's makeup. They are completely shy and inept and charming and gentlemanly towards her. It's adorable. And for a group with no foreign members, their English is so good, all of them. One of the best English speaking groups I've seen. I have a (long) list of groups I want to check out more. N.Flying is next on the list! Seventeen is further down but they might get bumped up higher because Seungkwang has stolen my heart after appearing on NCT Doyoung and Haechan's new eating show and after that KZbin sprinkled my feed with a few Seungkwang eating clips and he's too cute. I don't even particularly like mukbang shows but Sengkwang is the happiest eater I've ever seen. It's like every time he eats it's the first time he's ever tasted food. I finally relate to the Korean phrase I get full just watching you eat. 😅

Very close! Hongjoong* is spelled like this. He and Seonghwa were born in '98. For the ones born in 99, the order is Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung. Then Jongho is '00. Hongjoong and Mingi are both Main Rappers. Jongho is the only Main Vocalist. San is the only lead vocalist. And there are 4 main dancers: Yunho, Wooyoung, Mingi, and San. Seonghwa is a vocalist and rapper. Yeosang is a vocalist and lead dancer.
