Thank you for the video. Love from India❤️. I'm planning to substitute coconut milk for the breast milk.How long do you cure these soaps before using it for the baby??
@OpheliasSoapery3 жыл бұрын
6-8 months. But some cure for only 6-8 weeks.
@winusuren40343 жыл бұрын
@@OpheliasSoapery Thank you so much for your reply ma'am. Did you try using the soap after 8 months? Some people say Castile or Bastille are still drying on their skin after a long time cure.

While it is true that a good long cure is the best, I had a situation recently where I couldn't wait that long. My daughter works with horses and had one that was having an allergic reaction to fly spray. She needed something very gentle and mild for him, so I made up a bastille soap and used sodium lactate so it would be useable in a few weeks. I tested it on myself first and it was fairly hard after a couple weeks. Of course, I also did a water discount as well. I have been making milk soaps since 2002. Don't be afraid to freeze your milk and do it that way. It is very easy. Just add your lye to the milk and stir until the milk cubes are melted. The problems come when you just let the lye sit on the milk and it burns. It smells bad and turns a horrid orange color. But, if you stir it frequently while the milk is melting, it will not burn and will turn into a lovely creamy white mixture and will not smell. Just add to your oils and make soap. I always thought that was far easier and I do it with any type of milk I want to soap with. Freeze the milk in ice cube trays so it is easy to measure out the amount you need and it melts more evenly. Don't freeze it in one big solid lump. HTHs.

I watch for the soothing music you use. I watch a couple of soap professionals but there's a few who are just monotone if that makes sense then one who is a good soaper but seems to copy other people stuff. I like your music you choose and your soaps are so lovely to look at. Of all of the soapers I watch on KZbin you and Katie from Royalty Soaps are my favorite. Thank you for the calming videos from a long day at work.

Dumb question, but if you don’t have breast milk can you use formula? If it’s similar when digested by infants would it also be similar applied topically?
@OpheliasSoapery5 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. Might want to try a small 1lb batch and test it out :)

Does this soap burn babies eyes or is it gentle enough to use on baby face and head? Thank you 🙏
@OpheliasSoapery5 жыл бұрын
I would not use it over their head. It may burn their eyes.

Came here after seeing Seungri's interview with a korean artist telling him that she can give him her breastmilk soap if he don't mind. His facial expression was priceless 😂😂😂😂😂

I've found with Bastille and Castile soaps, the longer they cure, the better they are. I'm currently working through a batch of Bastille I made over a year ago and they're lovely. Nice hard bars, that melt away slowly yet give lots of bubbles.

What are the benefits of breast milk soap? I didn't even know that you could do this with breast milk, haha
@OpheliasSoapery6 жыл бұрын
Rebekah Cox I’ve read that breast milk has great healing properties. And it’s good for eczema. You can add pretty much any milk to soap (I believe).
