If I got a nickel for every time GamerSault told us a Horror game story that seems supernatural but the monster was actually a drunk deadbeat dad through the eyes of a kid, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Although it is pretty tempting to believe that Aiden is schizophrenic, I don't think that's quite the case but to be fair we never get much info in the game, so it's not for certain it is or isn't. Although I can't help but think that Aiden most likely has Autism, judging by his struggles to socialize and communicate with others, etc. Here's an interesting fact that could correlate with Aiden overactive imagination: maladaptive daydreaming, a volitional escape from reality when undergoing too much stress and stimulus or in Aiden's case trauma 😢

Welp, time to add Aiden to the list of horror game characters who have had major traumatic experiences at very young ages. The list of characters already in that category: -Unnamed (Among the Sleep) (age of 2 years): Drunkard mother who broke up with his workaholic father. At least the father seems to feel remorse. -Rose Winters (Resident Evil Village) (age of 6 months): Got turned into a crystal, got dismembered, was rebuilt a sadistic priestess to be used as a vessel and "watched" her father die, all in the span of a few hours!

Eh, the 90s and 2000s were full of grungy, gross out fads and trends marketed towards kids. And today kids are obsessed with stuff like poppy’s playtime and fnaf. Freddy fazbear does not look friendly, nor does huggy whatever from poppy. But kids are buying them anyway. Now granted those were typically marketed at young ish kids around 8-10 and Aiden seems to be at oldest maybe 2 or 3? But like… I dunno my brother is 7 and has a rainbow friend toy so I honestly don’t think it’s out of the realm of reality.

The story feels personal to me because the condition that the kid has sounds like the stuff that I do because of my autism, I don’t know if the kid has autism, but the fact that his father blames him for having some sort of disorder where he can’t tell the difference between imagination and reality it makes me really sad it’s not like the kid can help it and stuff like that happens in real life when a kid has a disorder that’s too difficult for their parents to handle their parents. Get mad and take it out on the kid.
