I was shocked when I found out that babies only had milk. My two were on 3 meals a day as well as milk at 3 months. That was normal 50 years ago.

its a bit too early a nurse told me. she said thier livers arent matured enoiugh at that age to handle solid food. soft food evens. 7 months is the right age

@@avagreene3624No, that's completely off. Babies have fewer allergies and illnesses if they start solids at about 4 months. Doctors USED to think 6-7 months, but the thinking on that has completely changed.

I have a hunch the nurse who told you that was either from a long time ago, or she's an older nurse who has not kept up. It has nothing to do with their livers, that's an old wives tale. Pediatricians recommend solids at about four months now, and they do fine.

The baby is sucking the spoon and that is a no no! You should never leave the spoon in the baby's mouth, put the food in and take the spoon right back out, do not let them suck the food off. They have to learn how to push the food back towards the throat with their tongue's.

What a sweetheart. Makes me wish mine were babies again. My oldest was a neat eater. I had to keep his chin clean, otherwise he would get upset and touch his chin, meaning, get busy mom and do your job and get this off my face. He truly hated food anywhere other than his mouth.
