You can make it bigger also by just doubling up your yarn and using a larger hook size

Round 6-10 should all have the same stitch count 36. It's most likely you did a mistake in round 5

Ears: 1.6sc 2.inc×6 3.1sc into 9 stitches(3 stitches should be left after) Cut yarn long enough for sewing.
