Hate to burst everyone's bubble but this was no tantrum! The baby; however, was actually cleaning/wiping/scrubbing/scratching his/her, for the lack of a better word, butt and also got in a little dust bathing for itch as well. They do have "body parasites" that occasionally need attention and is typical of all elephants. Sorry!!!

Another KZbinr posted a video of a baby elephant suffering from a fatal neuropathy that was having desperate trouble staying on its feet, and did precisely the same thing. In that case, the baby elephant was just a few days from death. Oh how bloody funny!
