My husband is a police officer and one night a woman called saying there was a baby raccoon trapped under her porch. Animal control was closed so my husband and partner went to see what they could do. They rescued him and it was probably about 4 weeks old. He held the little one and was almost reduced to tears just overwhelmed over the sweet adorable cooing of the tiny baby! They kept the baby warm and dry and bottle fed him goats milk till the morning when rescue came to get him. To this day he says it was the sweetest little critter he’d ever seen ❤

Don’t be fooled though, as adorable as they are, like most other wild creatures, they make horrible pets. Horrendously destructive and as they grow into adulthood they can become very mean. Anyone who finds a baby should, for sure, do exactly what you and your friends did and turn him over to a rescue where he can be raised and released back to the wild.
