Today you see Jameela and Freddie at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Kayembe manages to get in many of the clips. While he seems calmer in most of the video.

Kayembe was the first zoo born gorilla at the Cleveland Zoo.
Kunda is the second baby born in Cleveland in less then 2 years.
Jameela is the first baby gorilla born via c-section at the Fort Worth Zoo.
Birthdates: Mokolo 7/10/87, Fredrika 6/5/74, Nneka 9/23/98, Kebi 1/13/91/ Tusa 12/2/89, and Kayembe 10/26/21, and Kunda 7/19/23., Jameela 1/5/24.
The Conservation status of the Western Lowland gorilla is “Critically Endangered”.

Love your videos!!! It amazes me how Freddie is so protective of Jameela knowing how small she is yet knowing Kayembe is a young playful lil guy. Freddie's like a masterful martial artist. I love watching her deflect Kayembe. She doesn't push against him, she does these graceful martial art moves ( almost like Tai Chi) that deflects him by " moving" him in the same direction that he's going. Always makes me laugh. I'm thankful for Freddi being so empathetic and immediately giving her all at 50 years old .....Jamela needed Freddi needed Jamella. I often wonder if they were in the wild if Everytime a mom put down her new baby if Freddi wouldn't scoop it up and decide its her baby now😂❤

Baby gorillas will remain in constant contact with mom for 6 months. Now, Kebi is messing up that average because she never let Kunda move 6 feet away until about 9 months old. We’ll just have to see how it goes.

Jameela has a wonderful mum who manages to look after her two children, although she is no longer young. Kayembe is slowly getting used to the situation, although he would certainly prefer to have his mum all to himself. I am very happy that everything is going well so far . Thank you for the update.

💜💜💜 Awwwwww…… the minute Tusa starts screaming, Jameela squishes her whole sweet little self down as close as she can can to Mama Freddie….. poor Jameela has had a hard morning with rough and jelly little Kayembe 😋 trying to unseat her and now Tusa scaring her…..and seriously, those little toes grabbing Freddie’s hair 😍😍😍……

Keep in mind another gorilla might “look at Tusa wrong” and she’ll start screaming. So there really might not be much happening to cause the screaming.

Biggest takeaway visual is Kayembe on her back and Jameela in the front - at the same time. Happy Mothers day for sure to Freddie! Do you work there or a ticketholder? We have the Franklin Park Zoo gorilla troop here in Boston, but if I go I would never leave. Maybe Ill just go without my kids so I can do just that! :) Thanks for the great videos Larry!
