My wish for Freddie is that she have many more years of life as it would devastate both Jameela and Kayembe if the lost her. She's doing a fantastic job raising both of them.

As long as mother Freddie lives, no baby gorilla would become an Orphan. At the age of retiring, she is looking after the kids not born to her with such affection. Great mother ❤❤❤

I love watching Freddie. She's so gentle with both of her children. Even when big brother plays a little too roughly (in other videos) she pushes him off gently, never too harshly.

Alles, was Kayembe zu essen tragen kann, nimmt er mit nach oben. 😄🥰 Er ist so niedlich. 😍 ❤ Hoffentlich kann Freddie ihren Arm bald wieder benutzen und für Kebi wird das Sitzen schwierig. Ich möchte am liebsten alle umarmen. Geht leider nicht. 😉❤❤❤

Wow. Freddie has had 7 babies of her own. That’s 9 babies including Jameela and Kayembe. She’s a very experienced mother. Jameela looks contented and I’m so thankful for Freddie ❤ It won’t be long before Jameela is rolling around and playing with Kayembe 🦍 🦍

She is such a sturdy,chunky little thing! So beautiful bright little eyes shining as she surveys her world from the safety of her adopted mamas arms. I'd think at this point they would begin referring to Freddie as her ( adopted mom ) as it's very obvious the love between the two. Poor little guy Kayembe is so jealous!! He wasn't ready to give up being the baby!

Don’t know what Mokolo thinks, I guess he figures if Freddy is treating the infant like it’s hers that’s good enough for him. If Freddie passes I guess they watch to see if another gorilla in this troop picks her up to care for her.

The group that makes up the gorilla species survival plan met with the Assoc. Of Zoos and Aquariums and they decided that, at the time they moved, her that the Cleveland troop would be a good place for her.

Hi, some offspring will stay, some will go. In the wild, when a male offspring reaches a reproductive age he Usually goes off to start his own troop or joins a bachelor group. Some females stay and some leave when a neighboring male comes by and takes females or she leaves voluntarily.

What age will Jemeela start playing and not hanging on mom so much? At what age will mom start to not let her nurse so much?

Gorillas may nurse up to age 3 or 4. Playing? Close to 12 months. There is a range for both answers - just depends on the conditions. 👋😁
