There are also birds called guineas that make that kind of noise. A lot of people will put them with their chickens because they will alert for a predator way sooner than chicken will. I wonder if it’s because the noise they make a similar to guineas is why they have the name guinea pig

Almost like an alarm went off! Sitting there looking around, cute & quiet. Then a few tiny sounds, baby seems startled by it’s own voice, starts moving around, volume increases with all kinds of vocalizations. Love these little cavys!
