Finally! We got our baby horses, Lakota and Rain playing in the pasture! Lakota is about 2 weeks old and rain is getting close to 4 weeks old.

Follow along with our family as we share our life events while living on our 168 acre homestead, farm and stables!
We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! We also go to occasional auctions and recently have gotten into regenerative farming/agriculture. We are all about learning how to improve our fields/soil.

This is wonderful!!! @10:22 one of the precious babies decided to do a giraffe impersonation while grazing 🤣 They’re so darn adorable!!! I wanted you to know I had surgery on the 4th with some major complications turning a 2 day stay into an 8 day stay. I watched this video several times, especially at night when my pain was high and I couldn’t sleep. The views AND the sounds were incredibly relaxing. What a delight. With those long legs, the foals have to spread their front legs to reach the grass (at around 10 minutes), like giraffes drinking. It’s wonderful to see these happy, contented horses free in fresh green grass and sunshine, with the babies exploring their new world and each other. Thank you for sharing this.

I had Saddlebreds for years. I don't know why but I never saw the SB foals play with each other as foals naturally want to do. They were out in huge pastures with the mares and the mares weren't overly protective of them, so it wasn't the mares keeping them apart. But the foals would just follow the mares around, stand by themselves and ignore each other. I was always puzzled by that.
