Baby Lance Chugging His Bottle

Just like human babies, some batties savour their bottles whilst others are guzzlers.
Master Lance falls into the later category and clearly enjoys feed times.
Flying-fox orphans are aged by their forearm length and we gauge their weight using a chart based on forearm length.
From this chart we can calculate the amount of milk required by each orphan on a daily basis.
By 11 weeks of age our orphans are fully weaned and they are feeding exclusively on fruit, leaves, pollen and nectar.
