Just LOOK and Hear the audience cheer: Baby Lasagna is the true winner of both the ESC and our HEARTS. Croatia winning that was so very close. Switzerland got a huge bill for pay 2025 but Croatia won 2024. I haven't heard anything from the Swiss artist since he got the trophy there has not been gigs no nothing. Baby Lasagne has been touring Europe a lot afterwards.

Baby Lasagna is a solo artist (the singer who did the song all by himself - he was actually the only artist this year who wrote, composed, produced etc his song, all the other artists had whole teams behind them) but he gathered this amazing crew of young people (his friends!) who helped him make this performance amazing. He wasn't supposed to compete in national selections because he was on the reserve list and only made it in the competition because someone dropped out, but he swept both televote and jury votes and eventually came second in Eurovision. Amazing story. And behind his visuals and videos we have his very own talented fiance. The title refers to the rythm of the song, or this traditional dance that he'll miss from the small town which he leaves behind in this song.

It is a song that does well in that age group. Simple lyrics, a catchy hook, call and response, and a one armed 'dance' that everybody can do. It's like a Balkan version of the Venga Boys. Everybody can join in the fun.🎉🎉

If Rammstein really took part in the ESC, they wouldn't really stand out any more because there were already too many imitators. But at least Baby combined the Rammstein rhythm with football stadium rock, which was at least an innovation. Rammstein as industrial music uses the mass-market choruses rather ironically in the tradition of Laibach as an allusion to the seduction of fascism or right-wing populism today.
