Baby Mice learning to eat cheezies from the Pros

Once a baby mouse's eyes open they are ready for adult food. They learn a lot about what they can and cannot eat by watching their elders. In this video Midas and Faye show Enola and Elliot just what cheezies are all about :)

I've been subbed to you for a few months and I just want to say thank you for your content. I think you are an icon of a proper animal handler. I'm in awe at how patient and gentle you are with animals. I've never seen you pick up a mouse unless you need to; you always hold your hand out for them and wait for them to get on by themselves. It's grounding for me because I've been losing my ability to feel compassion. And also, I think you are strong for taking care of short-lived animals because of how much loss you experience. ❤️

Hello - love your channel so much - I try to share it with all the mice forums -- Quick question, I want to rescue a couple "breeder" mice at a store that are clearly fancy mice, one looks just like Midas.... but she's most likely pregnant... and I don't mind keeping all the females, but don't know what to do if there are males. Can you tell me what you do with the males that you have in a litter? Do you keep them? I don't have the heart to take them back to the store because i know their fate there.... but I don't have the want to have 5 other individual separate tanks for males..... I currently have a 3 story bookshelf for just 3 mice to give you an idea of the luxury they have here..... Just really unsure what to do with baby males?

I just got a double critter nation too keep mice in! Ill have to make it hold bedding but im really exited. I'm going to start out with 4 girls in just one level, and if i add the second I might expand to 8 mice total! I just dont want to get overwhelmed right away. I was wondering if you could make a video about introducing new mice into a cage, I know they might fight if you do it wrong!

Hello, I have a sad question.. my female mouse has her babies on Sunday the 21st and I went to check on them tonight bc I didn't hear any squeaking.. and they have vanished.. like the mom ate them ... now I have another female in the same enclosure do u think she will harm the other moms babies once born?

Are the moms 1st timers? If so they will be stressed and you might need to watch over them as she has them and take them so she does not eat them.

Female mice will only harm the babies if they are super stressed, if the babies are unhealthy, if they are unhealthy or if they are first time moms and do not know what to do. Not much you can do, it is best not to intervene. If the female mice are bonded, then the other one is unlikely to hurt the babies, more likely she will help out with the care and make things less hard on mom.

3 to 6 are best, for females and neutered males. Un-neutered males though need to live alone.

For most people rats make a better pet, but for some people, mice are better, it all depends who you are.

Sometimes eating a cheesie requires precision technique. Even as an adult i haven't quite mastered the technique. They usually end up as crumbs all over my shirt and on the floor. Then my partner yells at me and i have to get the vacuum.
