Wow these tips are really helpful! Especially for mums-to-be! I remember Summer's first stomachache I barely knew what to do!! Its better to self-educate on how to take care of your baby way in advance! 1 month in, I can heave a silent (he's asleep) sigh of relief, phew!

Yes they do come in glass..

***** I prefer glass bottles because they're easier to sterilize, and I don't have to worry about all the different types of plastic used in them like I do with plastic. Also glass bottles are made with tempered glass now so they're harder to break. Also when heating milk in a glass bottle I don't have to worry about chemicals seeping into the milk like I do with plastic.

Malakaiea Even things designed for babies can be hazardous. It is generally recommended to not have toys, blankets, pillows, etc. around the baby while they sleep because those can cause SIDS.

Malakaiea Simply because it's made for a baby and sold at the baby store doesn't mean it can't be dangerous; even if it is used properly. Ever heard of a recall? Guess you're not a mom or just not informed about life in general. Go figure.

Nikita B SIDS is when there is a thorough investigation of the death and they cannot determine the cause for sure. SIDS falls under the SUID term (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death) which encompasses all reasons for the child's death whether natural or accidental. While some babies are pretty sturdy no matter what mistakes the parent(s) make, some are not. And when you put them in an environment with super plush things where they can mash their face against it, or if you put them to sleep on their stomach since their neck can't support the weight of the head to turn if they get in the wrong position, they can suffocate themselves. If their head is tilted downwards too much due again to super soft bedding or the angle of various rockers/nappers, that can cut off their breathing as well. It's also why experts recommend not co-sleeping since if you roll and block the baby's airways just a little it can kill them too. It doesn't even have to be full on rolling on top of them. While some of these deaths can be easily determined, some cannot. There is the possibility of heart failure or brain issues or lungs just quit even without outside influence so that's why it's sometimes unknown. Babies are fragile. But the number of SIDS cases have dropped a lot in the US if I remember correctly, and that could very possibly be because parents are making sure to negate any possibility of an unsafe environment where the child sleeps. Sorry for the wall of text.
