infants shouldn't drink water due to water intoxication, their kidneys aren't developed enough to filter properly. formula and breast milk are enough for nutrients and hydration early on. babies should be introduced to water between 6-12 months when they're a little further developed.

Babies get all the water they need from either formula or breast milk. Giving excess water can be harmful to a small baby. The recommendation is to give SMALL amounts of water to a baby 6 months and over, earlier than that is not necessary and potentially harmful.

Girl, I’m really confused at these “water being harmful” comments. All 4 of my kids drank water from birth. It was actually advised to give water. Especially to prevent constipation from the iron in formula fed babies I’ve never heard of water harming any living thing 😮
