I would NOT have watched Baby Reindeer without the safety net of your thoughtful, sensitive review. Watching this series was well worth the effort, with you as the wise and gentle guide. Thank you. 🌺

baby reindeer broke me in ways i didn't expect. i tend to rewatch the shows/movies that i really like, and even though i loved this show, i can't bring myself to watch it again. i have to say, jessica gunning will be sweeping all the awards, as is richard gadd. can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for him to reenact his own trauma. i watched this show really not knowing the background of it, and god was i heartbroken. one good thing about it is that more men started speaking up about their abuse and going to the police and there are data that's saying the show helped them come forward!

Sammmmmeeeee. I was not expecting to find myself bawling and thinking about my own trauma. 🫥

I was kinda hoping you would cover Baby Reindeer. The show was hard to get through, more so the parts with the producer than the Martha character.
@stutter_box4 ай бұрын
It was definitely a hard watch and I don’t blame anyone who chooses not to, but the conversation it opens is so importante I had to cover it. Definitely my top 2024 TV show so far

It’s a stroke of brilliance, mentioning the downward spiral one can fall into when seeking for validation. So many people suffer from it, yet it is almost never mentioned in pop culture. Also I love your channel, and I hope you blow up really really soon ❤

Episode 4 was done so well. The realization of why he took so long to report Martha 😭

My husband started the series but couldn’t go over the third episode, he was shocked. Knowing him and knowing me, I didn’t even start it, but I’m very interested in the subject matter, so I watched my trusted Italian reviewer to understand, and now you gave me other interesting points to focus on. You’re definitely tempting me… but I don’t know… I think I’m not ready yet to watch this. I haven’t had ANY of the issues that the series covers, but I’m yet triggered, I don’t know why. However wonderful review as always ❤️

I don’t understand people can get “triggered “ if they haven’t experienced any of the issues??? Then again I can’t watch anything with animals- people being abused on screen no problem but animals NO!
@SereFenzi837 күн бұрын
@@katiekatconway1880 I’m not English, so maybe I misused the word “triggered” 😅 maybe I should have used another term, I meant that knowing that the protagonist has truly experienced those situations and he’s portraying them in the series, makes me uncomfortable and effects me in a deeper way. Actually you’re right, trigger is not the right word ☺️ By the way, to this day, I didn’t watch it yet 🤪 AND: I completely agree on the animals! I think John Wick has the most relatable plot development of all the revenge movies ever made!

It so perfectly captured the intricacies of grooming and the aftermath and confusion. The way it continues to affect our interpersonal relationships after, if left unaddressed. Acting was superb, and I 100% agree about Terry. She deserved better and I was inspired by the way she allowed herself to be vulnerable, but still strong enough to know her worth and have the self respect to move on.

I got addicted to your channel in about a week's time; subbed and enjoy you every time I need a recourse from my predicament... Your honesty and diligent, rather unwaivering insights into film (I lectured for years at URI, USA) revive my hopes for better life options/ choices. I am NOT CRAZY! Thank you! Yet again, I profess my love for😻 your thoughts/ opinions, the way you convey them, your whole demeanour. I love me some unpretentiousness. I find that love in you.

I’ve just discovered this on my homepage and am surprised you haven’t more subscribers. You deliver in a calm , thoughtful delivered style- which I like. Thankfully Baby Reindeer got about 6 Emmys despite the £135 million lawsuit hovering! All critics are omitting Richard Gadd was only 24 ( Martha/Fiona) was 38. He admits he was heavily into drugs etc - the producer who assaulted him hasn’t been disclosed publicly. So obviously someone in high position. I just thought it was a brilliant series. Unless you’ve been stalked I’m confused why so many people are “triggered “🙄 If you’d been a female in the acting profession in 80s and 90s ( like me) it makes you much tougher and therefore no triggering!

Dark inspiration. As a fellow artist this is what I think Donnie was doing by using Martha’s voicemails and coming back to them. Man that is a really unhealthy place to be.

It really is, but they say the best art comes from the darkest places, and this was no exception. Phenomenal (and much needed) storytelling

Just so you know, it's spelled "misogyny."" The way that I remember where the "y" goes is that it has the root "gyno" in it (like "gynecologist"). It's also why "androgynous" is spelled like that ("andro" for man and "gyno" for woman)
