Bula wants so much attention, and does not realize how big and heavy he is. What a beautiful little rhino he is. Amazing the attachments formed with humans and that they respond to human love and care. Listen to that little high pitched call for petting! Hugs to Bula!

Yes, this baby wants to cuddle and unfortunately is too big for its human. I wonder if these babies are similar in weight to baby elephants. I see videos with tourists cuddling little elephants and no one seems to get hurt. They (tourists and elephants) always have so much fun. I wonder if cuddling a baby rhino is simply too risky?

He looks to be about 200 pounds but that skin is thick so who knows. Maybe the angle of the shot makes Bula look smaller than he is.

I remember seeing a video of a baby rhino playing with a full size male German Shepherd. Was super cute. The same GSD had also been a companion to a baby elephant that lost it's mother. Unfortunately the baby elephant got sick and passed away, but the GSD gave him a buddy through the whole ordeal and allowed him to get some play time in before the end.

A friend had a horse that would rest on his lap when she was a few months old. Years later he was sitting in a chair in the pasture under a tree. That same horse (a thousand or more pounds by then) tried to get in his lap and almost collapsed the chair with my friend in it before he got out from in under her. He thought it was funny but after that he paid way more attention to what she was doing when around him 😂

Try lying down with him…from behind…if your careful and consistent you’ll both be fine…obviously he loves you reaching out to you so now while he’s under a TON of love enjoy. My Belgium Heavy Drafts I trained from fillies and +2000 pounds and 5 years later we cuddle in the barn on piles of straw, no role over squashing me only snoring….ANIMAL LOVE!
