Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've uploaded a video. Now that I am on summer break, I have time off from school so I recorded this song today. I felt like doing it in color, for once!
Usually I try to add or change little things in Beatles covers I do. Not this one, this is my attempt at a "carbon copy" cover. The only difference is that mine is in the key of G, a step lower, because of the high harmony during the bridge.
Instrumentally, this song features an acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and lead guitar (double tracked in certain places). In the double track of the lead, I messed around on the Bigsby to get that droning volume pedal sound (not shown). The vocals are just two tracks in harmony, with the exception of the bridge, which is double tracked (like the Beatles' version). I found the key to singing the vocals in this song was to be loose and have fun with them - almost like both melodies are fighting each other to take the lead, varying ever so slightly with each verse.
Remember, it's a waltz, this one!
Nick

You dropped the song down one tone and it still sounds awesome. I like how you adapt some of these songs to your singing range, like you did with The Night Before. I've been doing the same, thanks to you. Cheers. Great playing and singing!

Thanks, man! It's funny, I used to criticize myself for dropping keys, but now I don't care. I don't have a Paul McCartney range, and to do Beatles songs with his harmonies, I need to drop them. I've realized it sounds better to sing comfortably in your key (lower) than straining to hit the "original" key. Which BTW...even the Beatles did. The Isley Brother's "Twist and Shout" is in F - John dropped it all the way to D so he could sing it!
