Baby sloth gets rescued

This baby sloth has an incredible story in its first 2 days of life, having been rescued after falling from his mother. Here is his story.

Thanks to the compassionate people who would make such a long journey to the sanctuary! That little baby most likely would not have survived in the wild...If only there were more sanctuaries around the globe doing such loving work for the animals!

Wendy Moorhouse The majority of these kinds of centers take care of sloths from birth or sloths that are too weak to go back to the wild (older sloths, if they had an injury). They are too used to human care to go back to the wild and/or are too weak to survive out there.

They do realize the baby sloths that fall out of trees are supposed to feed the smaller predators in the jungle? It's a natural process and some animals have eaten sloths for hundreds if not thousands of years. She's actually depriving other animals from food.

Fransisca Natalia if a sloth is on the ground, they're either going to the bathroom (rarely) or something has happened to the sloth. they live in the trees, so it most likely was abandoned.

Fransisca Natalia He was born and he either fell from the tree or was not strong enough to hold on to the tree. Sloth mom is not getting down and risking her life saving that one so....she abandons it.

Crimson Rubix Its survival of the fittest at its finest. You are putting human values and sentiment on wild animals. In the wild if your baby sloth is not strong enough to hold on to a tree and it falls then goodbye to that baby. Sloth mom is not risking her life getting down the safety of the tree, and her others babies life, to save just that one. In the long run, its not worthy for her.
