I have an old style Madeline, I always put my wallet and phone in the back pocket that would be against your back when you're wearing it backpack style. I would worry about pickpockets grabbing things from the front pockets. (I've been pickpocketed before, so I might be a little more paranoid than most.)

From personal expirience if you pack a LOT then the 2.o insert is what you want and what I bought on eBay.. the 3.0 one I bought new and returned bacuse it doesnt hold as much as is very structured. I tend to like the squishy/floppy because it conforms to my bags and what I need.

Aside: That top really suits you. It's very flattering for your shape. The bag: It would be great for me and I'm not a mom. This would make a great teacher bag! There's room for my laptop, marking, pencil case, first aid kit, makeup/perfume, toilet emergencies, wipes, medicines, snacks, purse and water bottle! I love that it has a convertible strap. I wish it was available in something other than leather. I don't really use leather when it's avoidable for ethical reasons. Hmm. I will have to consider it. Another aside: Yes, bags for everything!!! Mine are less classy than yours as my main ones in use are R2D2, a stormtrooper, and Darth Vader. Yes, I'm a science teacher, does it show?

I have never had a nose bleed and when my daughter was a year and a half old we were at the bank and blood started gushing out of her nose. I had no idea what to do! Anywho my husband said it happened a lot to him when he was a kid. She usually only gets them during cooler drier months now putting the humidifier in her room helps a ton!!!!

Tigerlily I think a good "dupe" is the Henri bendell backpack (large). And just pop in a purse organizer. The Henri bendell is $200 and something but they have 50%off sales all the time( plus it's always 20%off anything over 200$). The back pack is convertible like the Lilly jade but has a nylon outside with leather trim (which makes it easier to clean if u actually use it as a diaper bag).
