WHY YOU DO NOT READ A BLOODY BOOK? MOVIES ARE SUBJECTIVE.
@ericjohnson3746
@ericjohnson3746 Жыл бұрын
@@Michail-z7p "Bloody book?" Heard of those. By the way it's presumptuous to think I don't read. All forms of communication can be slanted. The research is my burden and I enjoy doing that. It is not my fault that most information on my side of the pond over glorifies the American part of the story. Movies,books, essays and so forth tell me new pieces of a story. This can lead to further study but if not I am glad to hear someone else's angle. You may have more awareness of this story than I. This was an area that I didn't pursue when I was in college. As years go by the mind stays interested. I personally treat the movie as legend with some elements of plausibility based on some other things I already know. But I do not consider the movie to be absolute. I enjoyed it and thanked the presenter. And I hunger for more stories of mankind. I respect that you may have a wider perspective on this subject and you have my respect. When I was young I listened to all the stories from old people for even how they tell a story indicates their perspective. Now I'm the old guy and will hear what the younger ones think. Thank you for your stimulating response. With opinion one can glimpse into a story but truth is much better. Thank you again.

The final scene of the movie states: “No nation suffered greater losses in World War II than Yugoslavia. 1,700,000 people, one out of eight, perished in the struggle to defeat Nazi Germany.” That statement is incorrect. Official data says that at least 8 million Ukrainians lost their lives: 5.5 - 6 million civilians, and more than 2.5 million natives of Ukraine were killed at the front. That was 25% of their population. The Nazis murdered Ukrainians as they moved East into Russia and the Russians murdered Ukrainians later on as they moved West into Germany.

The saddest of story here is the defections of some of your family members, people you known/friends, and worst of all, just by money and not even by principles. And this happens also in Philippines with some Filipinos also done this evil thing during when Japanese invaded Philippines with American ally in WWII.

It's not a great film but shows some kinds of the actual brutalities commonly practised. There were and still are intense and deep hatreds between different ethnic groups. It was made worse by groups changing sides depending on who was most able to get Russian/German/Polish/Hungarian/Yugoslavian/Ukrainian forces to arm them so they could attack their enemies and get revenge. After the war and with the redrawing of borders, retribution was pursued with even more viciousness as the Soviet Union/Stalin murdered millions of suspected "traitors" from all of its annexed territories. Many of them were partisans from different groups that the paranoid Stalin suspected of having collaborated with any of the people who might have fought for the Germans, their allies, or the foreign nationals who wore German uniforms and fought for them. Across Europe anyone even just suspected of having fought with or for Germany were tortured and killed. Truly a terrifying time for everybody in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Not Yugoslavia with one out of eight however Poland where one out of five of the population were killed by Germans and Russians, of course the communists did not want to tell you that, suffered the most during WW2. Nothing good comes from War unless it is deveating the suppressor. Tito had some idea and never bended for Stalins USSR. Nor did the ones starting wars after Yugoslavia fel appart. In the end communism was never going to work which is not strange if you understand the principles of productivity and continuity of all resources and only serves as another form of oppression that needs to be deveated at some point in time by somebody who cares for the right to be free..

Too damn many commercials to hold my interest. Saw this on TV a few times and it isnt a "bad" movie, just stupid, a typical Yugo communist propaganda film. Using a Ruger pistol that had not yet been invented as a Luger is laffable. The simplistic view of the battle of Kursk is a joke... The Russians knew the German intentions and were dug in and prepared for it, and it was basically a suicide attack the way it worked out.
